Gosh, that seems like a long time, but it has flown. I started teaching Special Education at Woods Services in Langhorne. That was an absolutely amazing experience for me. The kids there were very rewarding and I know that I will never forget any of their names. I worked at Woods for 2 1/2 years before leaving to have my son. After staying home with him for about a year. I decided that I wanted to go back to teaching and found a job in Chester. I taught at Chester Community Charter School for 5 years, all of which were spent at the middle school age. Which I loved!!! Not many people do, but I thought it was great to see the kids becoming little adults. After leaving there, I moved to Philadelphia School District where I now teach 3rd grade. I love that too. I guess I like teaching. I have always felt that teaching reading and writing, is so complex. Teaching math has always been easier for me, there is only one right answer and only a couple of ways to get to that answer. Where as, reading and responding to that reading, can get much more complicated. I teach 3rd grade all day long and then come home to my two children. My daughter, Abby is going into Kindergarten and my son, Nate will be a third grader this year. (the best grade in my opinion) Those two keep me pretty busy with friends, and sports. Nate is a football player, so lots of weeknight practices and football games on Saturdays. Abby is starting gymnastics this year.
