Long term use of drugs can cause many negative side effects like brain damage, kindness failure and lead to an earlier death. When people become addicted to drugs it can seem like they have it under control but it is almost impossible for them to stop.

Someone I know struggled with acohol for awhile. They didn't think they were addicted and said they could stop at anytime but we all knew that they couldn't. It had gotten really bad and they drank and drove a few times and that's when we all got worried for their safety since they weren't 21 yet so they weren't even legally allowed to be drinking in the first place. They had told us that they were quitting and stopped drinking. When they had brought alcohol into the school that's when we decided that they needed help and they couldn't actually stop. Someone else that knew what was going on told the officer at the school that they had acohol. They officer talked to them and got them help. With the help and encouragement of those around them and with some professional help they were able to stop the addicting and stop drinking.
