I believe the tone of the poem is, angry. The think this because The Madam was angry at the Rent Man, for the condition of her apartment. She was also angry that he was asking for money for such a horrid living space.

The theme of the poem might be, that you shouldn’t scam or rip others off. I believe this because the poem is showing us the prespective of the Madam who had to live in that place. It also shows how something like that could backfire, because the Madam didn’t even pay the Rent Man.

I think the Tone of this Poem is annoyed/mad because the lady is mad that her house is in such a bad condition and the Rent man is mad because the lady won’t pay him money.

I think the theme is if you don’t like how something is, do your best to change it, because in this poem the lady keeps saying, this doesn’t work and neither does this, and so on. The land lord still refuses to fix anything in the house so she refuses to pay the rent until her house is fixed.

I think that the tone of the poem is irritated and angry. In the poem, both the Madam and the Rent Man are fighting because Madam doesn’t want to pay her rent because her house/apartment is run down. They both get very frustrated with each other.

I think that the theme of the poem is to do what you have to do and if you are having problems, ask kindly if there is something they can do about it. The Madam got angry and was yelling at the Rent Man. A more appropriate way of doing it could of been to pay the rent and then ask them what they could do to fix up her broken apartment/house and to figure out the problem.

The reason why is because when the rent man first arrives at her apartment she tells him that “Before I’d pay I’d go to Hades and rot away” which implies that she doesn't want to pay rent and she annoyed.

I think the theme of this poem is that if you're going to charge for a item or a service it has to have good quality.

I think that the tone of this poem is frustrated and regretful because the women bought/rented an apartment and she regrets buying because she later realizes that her apartment isn't quite the best for living. She dosent like her bad conditioning and keeps telling the rent man that shes is not giving him money for living in that apartment that has rats and is leaking and all in all just bad conditionings for living but the rent man dosent get that and keeps bugging her about how she needs to pay the rent.

The theme of this poem is think before doing because if she saw all of these signs but still moved in knowing she had to pay the rent then she had it coming but, if everything was fine then started breaking then she should be able to get someone to fix the things before she has to pay anything because if those things dont get fixed its probably just like living outside and you dont pay anyone to live outside so she shouldnt have to pay anyone until those things are fixed.
