For adults living in the community with early on set dementia. What is the effectiveness of using group activities as an intervention and what impact does this have on their levels of functioning, cognition and mood?
Hi Linda thanks for your question. Good to start with a broad topic. Good clear population too. Consider how you might focus on a specific type of group, what do mean by group activity? Is the group designed to have an impact on mood or cognition e.g. cognitive stimulation. Also think of about the outcome and choose one of these to focus on. If you are choosing function then you will need to be more specific about this. Try and get your question down to one sentence. You can always include specifics about your population in your inclusion/exclusion criteria.
Hope this helps Geraldine & Chris

Interesting topic but consider how you can make your question more neutral, reduce the bias. At this moment you do not know if kitchen practice has a positive impact. It would also be easier for you if you focus on one outcome function or occupational performance. You need to consider how you will know if occupational performance has changed. Is this from the SU perspective (occupational performance) or from an outcome measure.( functional ability)? if your are finding it difficult to find literature on kitchen practice then widen this to consider ADL skill training. Hope this helps Geraldine & Chris

Good start and an interesting topic. It's an open and neutral question. Consider making the population more specific this will help you focus your literature search.
