Today, I will be reflecting on my knowledge of Sociology after the 3rd module, including my personal experiences. Unfortunately, I didn't fit the time frame, but I did want to add that the power elite holds too much power, and we can correlate that with history, with holders of power being the rich and the ones who are involved with politics. In my life, we can clearly see that the rich hold more power, and those who are involved with politics are able to have a bigger influence in how our government is run.

In this audio, I reflect on what I learned in the 4th module, People, Place, and Space. Again, I wasn't able to get to everything in the module. However, I did want to still focus on how space creates communities, and we can see that through neighborhoods, parks, and schools where everyone you may be communicating with has similar interests and views on specific things.

My Final Reflection

This is my final review of what happened throughout this course and to figure out my final learnings. I think that the two concepts that stood out to me the most were social structure and class because it is the two concepts that shape how I am seen in society and how my family is seen as well. In addition to this, I was very interested in social class because I did some more digging to figure out where my family was and although we may not be the richest in terms of bank account, my family actually holds a lot of stocks that increase our wealth and puts us near the top in resources and what we have compared to the rest of the people in our city. I think I had the most relating to sexuality in my life because I’ve seen LGBTQ now being a prevalent talking topic in our society and descriptions of what is the correct sexuality is constantly changing. With our society now seeing an increase in people having different sexualities than the norm, we can see that it is a big issue in our lives today and it largely impacts who we are as a person within the society. I can agree with the point that I originally viewed sociology as just common sense and that you can easily answer it’s problems but after all the readings and assignments we were given, I can definitely say that I have underestimated what it takes to be a sociologist and how it is so much similar to science in its research aspects. I wanted to say that I enjoyed this class because it opened me up to many different perspectives and helped me connect it to many things and belongings in my life.
