My name is King James I and I am the first Puritan King who took over England after the great Queen Elizabeth. I am known for having the bible translated into English for the first time and we called it the King James Version(KJV). One of my biggest successes as ruler was founding Jamestown in the newly acquired lands of America.

My name is Charles I and I took leadership after James I. I also believed in the divine right of kings so the struggles with Parliment over taxation, religion, and governance continued. This conflict caused the English Civil War.

Oliver Cromwell (1649-1659)

My name is Oliver Cromwell and I ruled from 1649-1659. I was a Puritan Army General and because of my success in the Civil War, I was Crowned as the "Lord Protector" where I rule until I die. I changed the English government by abolishing the monarchy and establishing the Commonwealth. I'm known for my part in the execution of James I, for ruling England as a military dictator, and leading the conquest of Ireland and Scotland.

Charles II (1658-1685)

My name is Charles II and I ruled from 1658-1685. So basically I had a rough time... I was exiled to France because of Cromwell because of the threat I posed to the throne as Charles I's son. I had my fair share of problems such as The Great Fire of London 1666 and a resurgence of the Black Plague. I pursed the policy of religious tolerance in a document called the "Declaration of Independence". The arts and sciences flourished, revival of popular pastimes like country dances, singing , live music, performances, and blood sports.

James II (1685-1688)

My name is King James II and I ruled from 1688-1702. I'm the Roman Catholic brother of Charles II. I had 12 illegitimate children so James II would be the last Roman Catholic King of England, Ireland, and Scotland. With England being majority Protestant, another Catholic King upset them and he faced a lot of challenges regarding religion. Because of the challenges, the Glorious Revolution of England began. I also solidified the Constitutional Monarchy, laid the foundation for the English Bill of rights that limited the powers of the monarch.

William & Mary (1688-1702)

Mary is the daughter of King James II but she was raised Protestant unlike her father, She arrived her first cousin(William of Orange) who is a Protestant Dutch Prince. When Parliament completed the overthrow of King James II the people asked Mary and I to rule jointly as a Protestant alternative.
