Also the conversation revealed a lot places where we could partner in the future. The mission and objective of the agency is to provide wrap around services in their neighborhood and through out the city. The have political, social, cultural, environmental and basic needs capital.

Having everything within one building that families would need makes it so convenient. I knew the old building, was involved in the planning stages (as ECFE was considering being in that space) and was there for the grand opening of this great community space. It was nice re-connecting with Kara  and Valerie (old ECFE-NH collaboration) and meeting the 2 young teachers. They are all so passionate about their work and invested in doing the best for families and children. Kara's tour and presentation were impressive, demonstrating knowledge of the community and an asset based mind frame. There are definitely many ways in which OEL-PCs can collaborate with them. Kara already put me in touch via email with Joan Schlecht, Director of Programs-Basic Needs, to talk about the SPMA Family Center. Ka Blia, the side coordinator, is very interested in collaborating as well. It would be nice to also provide some level of partnership with the child care center since the teachers showed interest in our transition to Kindergarten practices.
