I was less than ten years old at that time, and I loved sweets very much. I was also a little calcium deficient, so I often suffered from some dental diseases. That time, one of my back molars had rotted to the dental nerve, and that tooth was very close to my wisdom tooth. That night, the skin and flesh around my wisdom tooth became inflamed, but it was midnight, and my mother was not convenient to take me to see a doctor, so I could only endure it until the next morning. People who have grown wisdom teeth know that this thing is simply a disaster. When my wisdom tooth on the right grew out, the left one also became inflamed. The situation was very serious, and even my mouth on both sides was swollen to the point where I couldn't close it.

When I saw the doctor the next day, the doctor told me that I had to remove these two wisdom teeth.

I lay on the operating table with the mood of "going to die". Although anesthesia was given, the connection between the wisdom tooth and the bone was very deep, and I could still feel the pain. During the operation, my dentist told his assistant, "Bring the biggest pliers, her tooth is too deep, and the small one can't pull it out." So the assistant handed him the big pliers, and the dentist's movements were like pulling carrots in a farm field. I was so scared that I didn't dare to move my mouth at all, because I was afraid that if I moved, the doctor would touch my other good teeth. I could only open my mouth and make "ahhh" sounds, and tears flowed down my cheeks.

The experience of tooth extraction was so impressive that I still feel pain in my teeth when I think about it now. So I decided to put this feeling of fear into my art creation.

In fact, the growth of the tiger's facial pattern is regular, almost centered on the facial features and spreads around, the fatter the tiger, the thicker the markings will appear.

The nose of a tiger is bulky, but it is softer than that of canines. Compared to canines, tigers have rounder ears.

The baby tiger will have some airplane ears, which are suitable for indicating that it is scared.

If you look directly at the silhouette, you will find that the tiger's face seems to be formed by the overlapping of a regular triangle and an inverted triangle, which is very suitable for graphic language.

I also found that when a tiger loses markings on its face, it actually looks very much like a red panda.

In terms of color matching, I chose orange, yellow, and blue because these three colors just form an acute triangle in the color wheel, which is a less error-prone way to color matching.

I controlled the center of vision on its face, then guided by the collar towards the two lanyards, then its two hands, and finally its shoes. This viewing sequence is comfortable.

2. Fortunately, the presentation effect of this section was better than I expected, because the lighting was very strong, and the character did have a very glaring feeling when opening his eyes. The doctor was set to be a doctor who was not very gentle, and he did not have many expressions when doing the examination. This means that I need to work hard in other aspects to achieve an interesting effect, so I asked him to get very close when he opened his eyes for the second time, so that the audience would have a sense of interaction as if it were a first-person perspective, and this feeling of rapid approach would have some thrilling effects, which is what I wanted.

When I drew to frame 134, I found that the character had not blinked, so I quickly added a blinking animation. The difficulty of this section is that the character blinks while moving, so the tilt angle and position of the eyes are very important. In addition, the character has a little subtle ups and downs, which will also make the size of the eyes a little different. This section is quite difficult to draw.

In the next section, the doctor will approach to an exaggerated position, so its face will also have a perspective change. I decided to refer to the fisheye lens, which will make its mouth big and its eyes tilted to both sides. The first shot is generally difficult to make, so it takes a long time, but I think I will draw the next shot faster.

It's a bit awkward to stop at this frame, because its next action is the most important.

In addition, since the tiger is actually drawn in the background, only his eyes can move, so I didn't shoot its reference video.

In addition, during the post-editing, I found that the last frame stayed a little short, and the audience could not react to what happened, so I increased the length of the last frame.

Regarding the wings, Batman's complete wings are not shown in the entire film, so I only need to add some wing shapes in the frames where the edges of the wings are exposed.

I also hope that the last frame of this section can stay longer, creating an illusion that Batman is looking at the audience (a bit like breaking the fourth wall), which is a common technique in horror movies.

Regarding the part where Batman stands up, I originally shot a reference video, but I think the effect of the reference video is quite average. I hope that Batman's face can produce an exaggerated deformation when it is close to the camera to achieve a more interesting effect, but my own face and mobile phone camera can't capture this effect at all. So I drew this animation based on my imagination. You can see that the effect of a few frames is very poor, and the shape is a bit broken. I plan to talk about this in detail in the final summary.

·The screaming sound of the bug comes from the scream of a little girl playing with a tablet in the car in the classic animated movie Wreck-It Ralph. I originally wanted to use the scream of an adult woman to express it, because the voice of a woman is very sharp and it is easy to produce an effect. But my friend said that it might be better to use the voice of a child. I think her suggestion makes sense, so I thought of Wreck-It Ralph.

·The sound of swallowing saliva was originally very loud. After watching it, my friend said that it might be better to turn it down a little, so I did it.

·The business of the drill bit drilling is getting stronger and stronger. I hope it can cooperate with the main music I chose to push the atmosphere to a climax.

What I've learned:

1. I've gained a certain understanding of the Toon Boom Harmony animation software. I encountered numerous issues I hadn't even considered before, ranging from color discrepancies to how to export videos with transparent backgrounds using TBH. Yet, I managed to resolve them all, which brings me great joy, as I was previously quite inept at using engineering software.

2. Given that this film is only 30-45 seconds long, managing the rhythm and telling a relatively complete story within such a short span became a challenge. During the production, I was quite concerned that the final outcome might not meet expectations. However, the end result left me quite satisfied with how the film turned out.

3. Since I had only attended lectures without actually working on projects, my understanding of the animation production process was initially vague. After completing this project, I feel I have gained a certain grasp of the animation workflow and can now comprehend the significance of most stages in industrial animation.

I believe the quality of my animation:

In truth, I feel that my current animations still carry a strong student vibe. When viewers watch my work, their initial reaction might be: this is probably a student project. I am striving to reach a more professional level to the best of my abilities. My aspiration is that one day, when people see the trailer of my work, their first thought will be: hey, this looks interesting, I want to spend money on a movie ticket for it.

Some reflections:

1. In this assignment, my animation process was not standardized. It was only halfway through, after completing half of the content, that I decided to alter the latter half's storyboard and content.This naturally increased the workload significantly, and some shots did not meet my expectations in terms of effects. Reflecting on this, I realize it was because I overlooked the beat board and script stages during pre-production, leading to various issues in the middle stages. In my next animation project, I will strive to follow a more standardized approach.

2. It's evident that for some frames with minimal movement, I resorted to copy-pasting to reduce workload, essentially taking a shortcut.I used to think that animating this way would go unnoticed by the audience, but it's actually quite obvious. In animation, static elements stand out more than moving ones. I will correct this bad habit.

3. Additionally, I need to cut down on meaningless shots; some early scenes I thought were amusing actually serve no narrative purpose and added unnecessary workload during the in-between animation phase. I should enhance my storyboarding skills, using more concise storytelling to craft a more complete and engaging narrative.

5. I believe my animation coloring may not be particularly standardized, which has inadvertently increased my workload. In the next semester, I intend to study more systematically how to outline and color, saving time while making my work appear more professional.

6. I need to learn how to create more engaging animated performances. Recently, I watched an outstanding animated work titled OO, which intricately portrayed the experience of nasal congestion in just six minutes.Both works use animation to depict everyday life, but the brilliance of this film left me in awe. I aspire to create equally outstanding animated performances, which might require more preliminary work and research.

7. Nick once suggested that I model my characters in 3D, but I didn't pursue this due to my lack of experience in modeling and the significant time investment required for learning. This led to some drawing errors in scenes involving character turns. It's not just 3D modeling; there are many auxiliary animation tools I'm unfamiliar with. To create better animations, I believe I should learn to use them.
