KNOWLEDGE CONTAINED IN THE QURAN

Theme: Scientific
Title: Formation of Human Being
Content:

Certainly We created man from an extract of clay. (12) Then We made him a drop of [seminal] fluid [lodged] in a secure repository.(13) Then We created the drop of fluid into a clinging clot. Then We develop the clot into a lump. Then We developed the lump into bones. Then We clothed the bones with flesh. Then We produced him as [yet] another creature. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators! (14)

(Al-Mukminun: 12-14)

The first two of these verses refers to the creation of human beings and seemingly is indicating their two-stage creation, that is, the first human being, Adam, was created from clay and then his offspring continued through his sperm.
The second verse indicates the process of conception.
Finally the last of the verses explains the stages of development of the foetus until it reaches the stage where it is blessed with a soul and becomes a new creation.

WORSHIP EQUIVALENT TO HAJJ

Worship: Being good to your parents

Explanation: The Messenger (PBUH) commanded one of the Companions to be good to his mother. If you do so, he said: “You are a Hajj pilgrim, a person performing `Umrah and someone striving for the sake of Allah (mujahid).”

Parents, especially mothers, undoubtedly have a very high rank in Islam. To serve them and be good to them can earn one the reward of Hajj. Therefore, we must treat our parents with respect and be kind to them as Ihsan towards parents is the highest level of Ihsan towards Allah’s creations.

There’s even a Quranic verse relating to the issue of how one should treat his parents which is in Surah Al- Isra’ verse 23 and 24:

“For your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And honour your parents. If one or both of them reach old age in your care, never say to them ˹even˺ ‘ugh,’ nor yell at them. Rather, address them respectfully.(23) And be humble with them out of mercy, and pray, “My Lord! Be merciful to them as they raised me when I was young.” (24)

From these Quranic verses, we can deduce that one should not even say ‘ugh’ to their parents as a sign of one’s anger and scold them. Instead, one should address their parents with respectful words, talk to them with grace and pray for them to Allah, to remove their difficulties and make things easy for them in the hereafter.

SOMETHING THAT I'M REALLY GRATEFUL FOR

Story: Everyone must have that one phase in their life where everything goes downhill, everything seems wrong to you that you started questioning your life. Mine was when all of us were stuck in our homes and learning through online platforms where it’s quite hard to focus and do tasks properly (for some people I guess). You could say I’m quite used to having people in my surroundings, and yet, when COVID hits, I was left all alone with my parents. However, for some reason, I’m used to having to show only my ‘perfect side’ to my parents while being overwhelmed with the amount of work given and no one to talk to as my siblings were with their own families, with their partner, or stuck in university. I started to look for reasons to continue living and how I can improve my life when I came across a Youtube video about making your relationship with Allah as the first priority.

Summary: Basically, I was grateful that I saw that video, as it changed my perspective of life. Sure, we all know from the start that we should make our relationship with Allah a priority. However, as human beings, there are times when we start to forget, and we need a reminder to bring us back on the right track. We must remind ourselves that the reason Allah has made us go through certain hardships in life is because He wants us to be close to Him, to rely on Him and pray for His assistance to put us on the right path. Therefore, the moral of the story is we must try our best and be grateful to Allah even at your lowest, as He will eventually change your situation and bless you with the best. As Allah had mentioned in the Quran in Surah Al- Baqarah verse 152; “Remember Me; I will remember you. And thank Me, and never be ungrateful.”

THE MAGIC OF AL- FATIHAH

This surah is a mother of the Quran which contains a prayer that protects from the anger of Allah and misguidance. As stated in verse 6 and 7, 'Guide us to the straight path. The path of the ones you blessed and not the people of anger and not the people who lost.' Consequently, reciting Al-Fatihah in our daily prayers can serve as a reminder for us so that we will not become astray from the right path.

Besides that, this surah also protects our heart from getting all sorts of evil intentions. This would prevent us from having spiritual diseases of the heart which would invalidate our acts of worship.

An ayah from the Quran that heals me is from Surah Al- Baqarah, verse 286.

Whenever I feel down or facing any problems in life, this verse always reminds me to be strong and that I could solve this problem I'm facing since Allah is The Most Merciful and He would never burden a soul beyond that it can bear.

No matter how upsetting or how complicated the problem I'm facing, there will always be someone else out there with a problem which is worse than mine. Therefore, one thing I can do is to pray to Allah S.W.T for his guidance and slowly think and organize my thoughts, in order to make the right decision.

SOMETHING THAT I WANT THAT ALLAH DIDN'T GIVE IT TO ME

For me, there's a reason to every single thing that happen in this world. One thing that I don't have is a father figure.

Well, a person can't have all the things they want right? There must be something they are lacking in, and not experiencing a father's love is one thing I'm lacking in. Truthfully, I'm not really affected by this, but sure I do feel a little upset about it sometimes.

However, as I grew older I'm starting to understand that maybe Allah wanted to open the mind of my family and I about the variety of people in this world, and how people can change drastically.

The moral of the story is that, people change, and you can not expect things to stay the same as they were, people come and go, therefore you can not just fully rely on someone else, because we never know how limited our time is being together with them.

I find this discussion interesting as it also serves as a reminder for me to be the best version of myself as emphasized by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) when he said, “Verily, Allah does not look to your faces and your wealth but He looks to your hearts and to your deeds” (Muslim).

Despite some of us who might already knew some of the information that was shared, I think it's good that this usrah can be a reminder for us in order to be a good Muslimah 🤍 Besides, I have an amazing facilitator as she's cheerful and friendly, and she's done a great job as our facilitator. 🥳👍
