This story is not about miracles or speaking animals which are all-too-common themes in children’s books. The stuffs appear in this book are not so special, and children can have similar experience as the book (they can say good night to anything in their room). I believe the stories that are connected with a real life are impressive for children, and that is why this is so classic. 
I think that, comparing to Freight Train, the texts color is simpler, only black, and the pictures are more detailed than Freight Train ones. The common points are the colorfulness of the pictures and the simpleness of the texts. 
I recommend this book to especially those who have daughters because its concept and pictures are so cute, and girls would like them.

In the picture book, the characters are only animals, so children may imagine another world from our world, which is really exciting for children. The illustrations are quite fine to the details. For example, the position of the moon and the hands of the clocks move, and moonlight is drawn in bright color in the darkroom. The book is also useful for children’s learning. It includes the monochrome pictures of each thing, so children can search them in the main pictures and check the names of the colors and the things. Then, I would like to recommend this book. The sentences change from ones associated with motion to silence. In the beginning, the author uses “jumping cow, kittens, clocks, and mouse, but in the ending, nobody, mush, and star. I think the flow has effects on making children relax and encouraging them to sleep.

This may be closer to the child's habits and give them a chance to learn the names of things.
