this book is a good option for a second grader because it is a good reading level for the chosen grade while also challenging them with some words. It also could be a mirror for them depending on some of their school experiences but they can relate to the school environment and classmate interactions shown in the book. It teaches the students about uniqueness and kindness in the classroom which I think is very important to teach at a young age.

this book is about the students involved in a change in their school while creating a buddy bench. this book highlights a common problem of being left out in school and talks about ways to control your emotions and include others. this book would be a mirror/window for students depending on their experiences but it is a good book to read during the school year to help understand the effects of your actions.

this book was one of my favorites growing up and I think it would be perfect for a second grader. it has a very meaningful message shown in the story and I think it is a great book for students to read in elementary school. this book is one of my favorites for elementary school classrooms. it has a great message and is something that the kids can learn from to understand how to treat others in the classroom. It is a good book to read for lower elementary students to understand that everyone comes from different places but all come together at school to learn. I would say this book is a mirror because they are relating to the setting and overall story of the book.

I picked this book because it was an award winner and I think every student should read it at some point in elementary school. this book was very enjoyable and I think second graders would find it very engaging and funny also. It is about a kid who is going through elementary school and learns about his family and responsibility which is very relatable to the students that would be reading this book. It would be considered a mirror because of the similar time period that it was written to when the students would be reading it. overall, it is a very good book and it has good messages in it for the students to learn.
