Text: The Museum of Tolerance Los Angeles, the educational arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, challenges visitors to confront bigotry, anti-Semitism, and hate and to understand the Holocaust in both historic and contemporary contexts. Since opening in 1993, the Museum has hosted over 7.5 million visitors. More than 3.5 million students and youth have participated in the Museum experience and its programs, and almost 200,000 adults have been trained in the Museum’s customized professional development programs over the last 20 years.
A recipient of the Global Peace and Tolerance Award from the Friends of the United Nations, visitors to the Museum of Tolerance and Simon Wiesenthal Center have included American Presidents, Israeli Prime Ministers, Kings, and European and religious leaders, as well as numerous Nobel Laureates.

Text: The Museum of Tolerance supports schools in advancing anti-bias education, inclusion, and equity. We are proud to be named a partner in the California Department of Education’s new “Education to End Hate” initiative. The MOT’s unique content features lessons from the Holocaust and dynamic exhibits on contemporary human rights struggles, and confronting hate and discrimination in the US today. Featuring live virtual tours, expert speakers, personal testimonies, video story-telling, and hands-on lesson plans and resources, sessions create space for dialogue and community. Educators have special access to our Film Club featuring award-winning films and dynamic conversations.

Survivor Testimony: Hear and Meet a Holocaust Survivor

For over three decades, Holocaust survivors have volunteered their time at the Museum of Tolerance to speak about their experiences during World War II. Over 50,000 visitors per year meet and hear a Holocaust Survivor. These survivors have been the most effective ambassadors of memory, hope, and tolerance.

The Museum of Tolerance is proud to offer live Holocaust survivor talks IN-PERSON at the Museum of Tolerance on Wednesday at 1:00 pm and IN-PERSON at the Museum of Tolerance every Sunday at 1:00 pm (included with admission).
