Many plants and animals haven't been discovered in this biome yet. If one thing happened to an organism in the ocean, the ecosystem wouldn't fall apart. In that case, the ocean is not bio diverse. Biodiversity is the variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem. Everyone has a role to play in the ecosystem if it contains biodiversity. Everyone is basically a keystone species. They rely on each other for survival. If one keystone species were to die then the community would fall.

The great white shark is at the top of the food chain with striking fear into its predator.

Not only the great white shark has fell at this rate but also hammerhead sharks. Sadly, there has been no predicted comeback and shark population rates are still declining.

But when all the top predators in an ecosystem are slowly declining, it affects every species around them. Smaller animals that are prey to the great white sharks would become predators and the smaller species would also decline. The great white sharks bring balance to the food chain and the overall population. Scallops is the species that are affected the most in this situation.

We as humans can turn this whole situation around and make this positive. Five things we can all do are to not use shark products, reduce, reuse, recycle and spread awareness through social media. This will help out the community and inform the public on what is going on today.
