         <title>Prompting and Fading</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><br>Prompting</strong> is the practice of indicating or initiating the next step in an activity.<br> As part of a skills development process it involves modeling or suggesting to the learner that they make the next move: “ You have turned on the oven and mixed the ingredients. The cake mix is ready to go into the pan now”.</div><div><strong><br>Fading</strong> means withdrawing the prompts to increase the learner’s independence.<br> Remove the prompt and watch for independent action or initiative: “I won’t remind him to grease the pan yet, let’s see if he does it without me prompting him to”.</div>]]></description>
