It would be difficult to celebrate as an American because I would not be able to celebrate the Novenas with my family and friends, and the Christmas music would be quite different as well. Secondly, we open gifts and have a Christmas meal on the 24 instead of the 25, the day on which many Americans do this. Additionally, like Americans have Santa Claus, we in Colombia have “El Niño Dios,” or baby Jesus, who comes to deliver gifts to us. And finally, the meal we have on Christmas would be different. - people stereotype us all as “ghetto” or uneducated
