Question 2: Do you think technology affects traditional practices or celebrations? How?

Yes, technology affects traditional practices and celebrations. It helps make these events more popular and accessible, allowing people from different places to participate or learn about them online. However, it can also cause some traditions to lose part of their original essence. Technology helps to organize and share celebrations in new ways, but it also makes people reflect on what truly matters in these cultural events.

Question 3 - What are the positive and negative effects of technology on your culture?

A major positive point is that technology helps us keep in touch with distant relatives and friends. In a giant country like Brazil, social media and video calls allow families and friends to stay closer and participate in each other's lives, even when they are far apart.

On the other hand, a negative point that we see daily is seen in our daily gatherings, where some people remain silent during social events, just stuck on their cell phones without paying attention to the people next to them, as the photo above illustrates. This challenges our traditional culture of face-to-face conversation and socializing at parties, bars, etc.

Brazil faces different forms of inequality that continue to shape our society today. Economic, educational, and gender disparities limit opportunities and create barriers for many people.

This poster highlights how these inequalities affect daily life and development in Brazil. Promoting fairness, empathy, and access to education is essential to build a more inclusive and sustainable future for everyone.

Fighting inequality is not only a government duty — it’s a shared responsibility that starts with awareness and collective action.

Technology affects traditional practices and celebrations in both the Philippines and Brazil, though in slightly different ways.

In the Philippines, technology helps preserve and promote traditions. Filipinos use social media and digital platforms to share cultural dances, music, and festivals like Sinulog and Ati-Atihan with people around the world. Online videos, virtual events, and digital archives make it easier to keep traditions alive and accessible to younger generations, even those living abroad. However, technology also changes how people celebrate—many fiestas now include modern music, live streaming, and online promotions, blending tradition with modernity.

In Brazil, technology also plays a big role in cultural celebrations like Carnival. Social media platforms are used to broadcast parades and samba performances globally, allowing millions to experience the event virtually. It helps promote tourism and national pride, but it can also make celebrations more commercialized or focused on online trends instead of cultural roots. Overall, in both countries, technology serves as a bridge between the past and the present—helping preserve culture while also transforming how people celebrate and connect with it.

Question 3: Do you think technology affects traditional practices or celebrations?

Technology plays a crucial role in promoting social inclusion and reducing inequality. In Brazil, expanded internet access and the widespread use of mobile devices have enabled individuals from marginalized or remote communities to access education, information, and public services. Moreover, digital platforms and online learning opportunities have democratized education, bridging gaps that once limited access to urban centers. Finally, the growth of the digital economy and fintech solutions has fostered entrepreneurship and job creation, allowing small businesses to reach broader markets and strengthen local economies.
