Being human is a very complex question if you really think about it. With a short definition being human means to be born, breath the air provided, and just live. We are all different in many ways. We look, talk, laugh, and think completely different from anyone else. I believe every person was born for a reason and we follow the paths we want. Being human means to live on earth, and be whatever you want to be.

I think that what it means to be human is to be able to love as much as you can hate. To be able to communicate using words, and drawings. To be able to think critically and morally/immorally. Every human is unique in their own way, there is no specific way to determine our personality or attitude. We also are able to be horribly ignorant, we think other humans are lesser because their skin may be a little darker, or their sexuality is different from our own, etc. Even though none of that affects us one bit. We can be amazingly smart but also horribly dumb. To be human is also to believe we have another purpose on earth then to solely survive. I don't believe any other creatures on Earth believe something like that, they just live.

Being human can be simplified down to being a living member of the homosapien species. However, being human is far more meaningful than that. To be human, one must have humanity. Humanity is complex emotion. It is kindness, empathy, happiness, sadness, honesty, and other such various emotions that make up a human. Without emotion, we would all simply be an empty, yet living shell of a person that can only think to survive. Being human is to live an experience, being human is to experience emotion, being human is being humane..

What I think it means to be human is to have the cognitive functuions in the brain to be able to feel touch, emothions, to be able to make memories, and to make choises. I think that once you are breathing, and taking in the world around you then you are human. That you can look at someone and have sympathy, and or empathy for that other life. Some others might not know sympathy, and or empathy so it gets a little complicating there, but the gist of what I am trying to say is there.
