         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mike Paroli<br>The Haitian Revolution had a huge impact on the culture of Haiti as a whole. It ended French rule but the French side of Haiti's culture still remained. The language became a mixture (Creole) of French and native language. The native Haitians were now  able to develop their own culture when the French left. The literature focused on how they had lived under French rule. Poverty was a big issue.</div>]]></description>
