Why Did I Pick This Background?

The reason why I picked the background of a body of water is to represent how I love to go swimming and enjoy how I can float in or go under the water. I also admire the aesthetics of nature like this body of water, so its nice to capture a moment of what I find beautiful by taking photos.

One hobby I enjoy is photography, I would love to use a professional or polaroid camera but I only have my phone.

What I Did Over the Summer!

For my mother’s birthday in August, she decided to celebrate it by jet skiing. We went to a park that also had a lake and I drove the jet ski with my brother, it was really thrilling. I went 50 mph on it just straight forward because I don’t have much experience so if I turned then I would probably fall off. We did have life jackets but its better to not fall in the water, although my other 2 brothers did. It was concerning at first but we laughed in the end. We also had a picnic at the park where my brother-in-law grilled the most delicious Korean short ribs ever. I would say that jet skiing is probably one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done.

I am a Hmong American girl, my parents were born in Laos but grew up in Thailand because of the Vietnam war. They are Hmong and know 4 languages but mostly speak Hmong so I can understand it well. Although due to growing up in a country that mostly speaks English, I can speak English better than I can speak Hmong. I am currently learning Spanish with my best friend in school so I have some knowledge of that language as well. Me and my best friend met in 7th grade, when in person school had restarted for both of us after COVID-19. Me and him are both people with very strong morals so politics are important to us, we connect in that aspect. Also, I consider myself to be a kind person who cares about whats right just like him. He makes me a better person and is my favorite person in the whole world.

Things Going Well in My Life

My friendships are doing very amazingly and I am so grateful to have them in my life. I have 5 friends, but they’re like family to me because we’re so close; although one of them actually is my biological younger brother. We always have the most entertaining conversations about our lives, the people in it, the social media we use, and much more. I love all of my friends deeply and I know we’ll be friends until we’re old and wrinkly. We care about each other a lot and I’m always learning from them. I have known my younger brother his whole life, my best friend since 7th grade, and my 3 other friends through my best friend all at SLP since freshman year. It hasn’t been too long since I’ve known most of them but they’re open, honest, silly, intelligent, hardworking, awesome people. I can go on about what type of people they are, but overall they’re just the best people I’ve met and can easily make my day much better.

I think this mv is extremely beautiful and well done, just like many of this artists music videos. This is one is my favorite though because of the symbolism and lore that is very incorporated into the video. It has references of his past and new music videos, connecting them all together to make a story. When I catch the hints that link it all together, it makes me fall deeper into interest about this artist and his work. The fans come up with theories about the music videos which is fun to watch and he adds more information or confirmation to the theories so it isn’t just this video alone that makes it my favorite.
