Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms have shaped who we are today by giving us the ability to stay in touch with our friends and family in an easier way and share what is happening in our lives with them without having to dial their numbers or email them or even wait almost a year to see them and tell them what's new in our life, they can see it when you post on your social media accounts and see your videos and photos.

But it can also be dangerous. People can make accounts and steal a photo of you or your friends and family and you might think that it's them but when truly its an impostor posing as them.

My family, friends, and teachers all shaped who I am today. If I did not have a family or in other words if I was a foster kid I would not know what love is, but that depends on the type of foster parents I have. Or if I was an orphan I would not know what love or security is, I would feel like I'm being put back into the system because of something I did wrong or because of how I am. I would feel abandoned.

But my family shows me love they show me how to love and how to care for myself and the world around me. My friends show me that I am not alone in the world. My teachers show me the world through Spanish classes and through Social Studies.

They shaped who I am today by giving me care, love, and knowledge. Thank you to the teachers that I have had teach me through out my schooling.

Being able to review all of these sources gives me a better understanding of what is happening all around the world which helps shape my beliefs and identity. However, as the media has a plethora of both freelance writers and companies with their own views it is very important for me to review multiple sources in order to figure out where one article was biased and the other was not. I wasn't allowed to have a phone until gr 7, and I was never exposed to it at a younger age. 
Once I did start using social media, I started making new connections with older friends and with friends I made at summer camps etc. I only really followed certain accounts like the Calgary Zoo, San Diego Zoo, and stuff I was interested in.  It definitely made it easier to communicate and get updates, and I was always cautious with who I interacted. 
I believe there is a positive side to using social media, as long as it's used responsibly.

As people, we have evolved and progressed through history on a canvas of unique landscapes. We are very fortunate in Canada to have such a unique variety of biomes and wilderness, from the Pacific Ocean to the sea stacks of the Atlantic. Canada is no exception for the lack of wonderful wilderness. The Indigenous people lived here for tens of thousands of years before any European settlers arrived. Had deep connections to the land around them, and they respected and cared for it.

They teach us a certain way of life we should follow and accept. Parents teach wrongs from the right and make you see the type of person you would become and shape your identity based on role models that your parents are.You won't only have the same values and beliefs us them but also be able to have our values and beliefs.
