I read Divergent By Veronica Roth. The book is about a girl named Beatrice in a dystopia world were people are split up into 5 factions, Dauntless, Amity, Erudite, abnegation, and Candor. Her and her brother are 16 the age that they have to choose their faction. Beatrice gets her faction test and gets a choice of 3 different factions which is very rare and is known as Divergent. On the Day of picking she goes into Dauntless and her Brother goes into Erudite, abandoning their parents.
In Dauntless She makes Friends, gets trained and meets Four, a Dauntless Trainer. In their Training there is a very competitive boy named Pete and a harsh trainer named Eric. She grows to dislike both of them. She also grows become strong and smarter in the Dauntless training. In the last part of their training all the trainees will have to virtually face their fear.

Consideration

1.
What I really liked about this books is the fact that it is for many different kinds of readers, people who like dystopia, or drama, or romance, or even action. The story itself is very interesting and the author was not scared to kill of important and likeable characters, which is very respectable.
2.
The setting was the most interesting, how they were so careful to split people up into the factions but didn't care until they were 16 was interesting. It was also a different idea to segregate people into those specific values, like honestly and selflessness.
3.
I saw a connection with people needing to label things and separate them based on that and in this book it is portrayed as a bad thing but I think it is only bad when it is in extreme cases like the setting in the book.

The book cover is the insignia for Dauntless which is not only cool looking but also relevant. In the book Tris chooses her faction to be dauntless.

"To me there's a difference between not being afraid and acting in spite of fear"
-Page 122
I thought this was an interesting way to look at fear, seeing it was a quote from someone who is in the Dauntless faction, and they are supposed to be be fearless.

"Fear doesn't shut you down; it wakes you up. I've seen it. It's fascinating."
-Page 92
Although it is vert inspiring and positive I do not think it is true.

"Beatrice," he says, looking sternly into my eyes. "We should think of our family." There is an edge to his voice. "But. But we must also think of ourselves."
-Page 64
I like the importance and deeper part of the quote. Selflessness is a thing that in the real world you either see to much of or too little of.

I would recommend this book to two types of people, people who like dystonia books and people who like dramatic books. This book takes place in an interesting dystopia world and through the book there is a lot of action and emotion. The book has very engaging characters that will make you ask, "WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT?". Every chapter in the book never lets you down. Not only can people who like action books can read this but people who are into romance as well. It has a plethora of genres packed into this single book.
I would rate this book an 8 1/2 out of 10.
