"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see"-Edgar Degas
Music is an important part of my life. Singing has allowed me to express and transmit my feelings. Therefore, I wanted to share a song called "Rise up" which gives me a message of hope and probably you get a good impression of it too. I chose this song because It's hard to sing for some high parts, but It's as challenging and beautiful as life.

I'm a tech guy, doing some computering graphics is cool, nevertheless doing it with math it's even cooler. This piece of art is a grid of boxes that changes their height over the time following a Perlin Noise function. Also we have a Sinusoidal wave function that describes a more soft pattern from the center to the edges. I wanted to show how math could do some beatiful, relaxing pieces of art as good as people's art without it.

Looking at my classmate's projects, makes me think about a lot of emotions that art might make feel in people, perhaps not only the real meaning of the art piece, but rather can transmit feelings in very different ways that the artist couldn't think.

Hey guys! I wrote this poem in a terrible attempt to feel less sad. I wanted to talk about how love, even when it's harmful is still so enjoyable, and so significant for us. Even when it's toxic and bad, we crave for love anyways.
I think that there is no better way to talk about a life than to talk about intense feelings, love (unfortunately or not) will always be one of them.
I played with some pronouns (in case you noticed) that do not only have a pretty straightforward meaning about me and my preferences, but also mean that <del>I'm talking about me</del>, about those times when I was not into a relationship and I broke someone else's heart. About me being careless and toxic, about me not being good enough. I wanted to make people realize that it is so easy to play-victim in love, but just as easy it is to hurt others.
Love will always hurt, but the high is worth the pain, almost every time.
T A K E Y O U R C H A N C E

For my project, I decided to do something that belongs directly from my soul, and is as simple as Naruto, my favorite anime. For me, is more than just a tv show. Naruto is a history fulfilled with compassion, self-confidence, challenges. We also have the chance to see ourselves in his clumsy starring, those who have watched this anime can agree with me, it's so heart-warming.

The colors represents exactly the feelings of the whole series: bravery, love, being almighty, growing, overcome oneself. This piece is made in the technique of oil painting, I am a very beginner, so I wanted to reflect what makes me happy, even if it was not the best option for my second painting.

Kurama (the nine tailed fox) gave me the sensation of having a friend who will never go, even when passed away... like my beloved pet. Also, Kurama was so important for Naruto's development, you can love it so easily.

I feel joyful for getting the opportunity of sharing this (un)perfect piece of art. Oh, and it's a little covered, and that is the key. Naruto teach us that we cannot be perfect, but that's the lovely thing about us.

<del>disclaimer: I have a funny time sharing that Naruto's face looks awful xd sorry, but I'm starting at this haha</del>

Thank you for reading this, take care 🦊♡

Over these lines lies my art project. It is a portrait attempt of my girlfriend´s face. I have been drawing for a while and thought she would look as gorgeous as she does in the actual photo. Unfortunately, the results weren´t as good as I expected, but I put so much effort in the making process that I decided it was worth sharing either way. My technique in this one was color pencils on watercolour paper. What I like about this project is that I could recall all the love and calmness that I feel when I look at her face in this specific picture. Against all the odds inside my mind, she loved the result, and I could see her smile while she was looking at it, that moment was priceless, and made all my effort worthy.

If you don’t like the portrait as I did at first, I got you! I uploaded two pictures of other artworks that I´ve done before this one, and which I also shared during the class.

I enjoyed this activity for many reasons, but mostly because I could clearly see the purpose of the art itself: to make you think/feel something. I strongly believe that art in all its extension has the power to evoke feelings in our souls, and at the same time, can make us stop for a while and reflect about the issues that can come against of the life itself (like the colonization effect cleverly portrayed by Mariana); some artworks can make us feel calmed (like Cesar’s), challenge ourselves (like Nathalie´s drawings), amuse us (like Carolina´s portraits) or help us to express our feelings (as good as Giovanni did in his song). Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to share some good art!

- Joshuart.

Hard Love - Giovanni Granados

The last time I wrote a song was about three years ago, it was a dedicatory for my girlfriend, and it has passed a lot of time since then, so the art project was the perfect occasion to let my imagination fly again. First, I came up with a melody that I transcribed to the piano, subsequently; I added harmony to embellish that melody. On the other hand, the lyrics are about painful love, this is the kind of love you can find between toxic couples or when one loves more intensely than the other does, that is why I named the song “hard love”. My girlfriend asked me if I was going to dedicate this song to her, but I had to tell her that as the lyrics narrate the story of a toxic relationship, I had not thought of that. The structure of the song is simple:

1. Piano intro

2. Chorus

3. First Strophe

4. Chorus

5. Second Strophe

6. Chorus

In my opinion, this project made me get out of my comfort zone since I haven’t practiced that much my singing skills. I’m pretty sure that I can get in tune, in other words, I can hit the right notes, but I think the color of my voice is not very harmonious or vibrant. Therefore, I am not completely happy with the result of the voice; nevertheless, I was amazed by myself since I found rather easy the composition of the lyrics and make them fit with the piano accompaniment.

I consider this activity was rewarding; I enjoyed seeing my classmates’ projects since most of them were creative and innovative as Cesar’s graphic. It is an example that every person, no matter the background, studies, or profession, can experience art not just as a consumer, but also as a creator.

I started watching Fleabag thanks to someone on Twitter who recommended it by saying that the show had broken her heart so I just wanted to see if it would break mine too. And it did.

In the specific scenario portrayed on the painting, after expressing her love for him, there’s nothing but a ‘It’ll pass’ in return (and I know that it may not sound as heartbreaking as one might expect, maybe it sounds silly or merely rude but in the context of the show, it’s considerably more poignant).

Therefore the painting is about a broken heart and the exact moment in which you’re told the other person doesn’t feel the same as you do (it applies to unrequited love or a breakup): the background and the faces start to fade, as well as the feeling, and there’s nothing you can do about it besides accepting it. Although, there’s this other option in which you may hope that the whole scenario fades away and think that maybe it was just a dream, the only problem is that it wasn’t and it’s nowhere as simple as that.

I think we’ve all been through that situation or at least, that painful feeling, and that’s the reason why I found the ‘it’ll pass’ so heartbreaking, because it eventually does, but in that moment you feel like it won’t and you don’t really understand (or maybe try not to) why it has to be that way. The painting is a reminder that it will pass or maybe it’ll just fade away (and that sometimes it’s for the best).

Regarding the activity, I loved it. It gave me the opportunity to finally make something that I had been postponing for quite a while (I had wanted to paint that specific scene just after I finished watching the show) and the process of painting was far more enjoyable than the last time I did it, as I used to do it only when I was sad or melancholic. Personally, I think it was a great exercise for everyone, as it let us be creative by doing something that we actually enjoy but maybe don’t do as often as we'd like to. Also, my classmates’ projects amazed me, the more I heard about the reasoning behind them, the more I enjoyed the activity as it allowed us to get to know each other slightly better.

Thank you :)

I have never considered myself a romantic. Not only am I critical of romantic love and its problematic propaganda that makes us think we are incomplete unless we are with someone; I also avoided romantic movies or books, and for a long time, I also ran away from relationships. In these last couple of years, I've developed a more mature view of things. Though I still think there are problematic dynamics in traditional romantic love, I have came to understand that wanting to love and be loved is not something to be ashamed of.
I am not a romantic, but I no longer seek to escape from love and its vulnerability. Making this drawing was a symbolic way to prove myself. I felt exposed when the time came and I had to show it to the class, but you guys helped me make terms with that. Thank you.

P.S: The drawing style I use is very minimalistic, because that is the only way I know how to draw 😬

I made this mainly because of my passion for motorsports.
It´s made in a simracing game called automobilista 2, the most important logo is in the hood of the car, it´s for a college´s group called kartun, thanks to those guys i overcame a personal dificult situation and i could start to be loyal to the little me that dream about being a racedriver, i know that is hard but, activities like this one serves to remember me what´s the most important thing in life, chasing our dreams no matter what.
In the game i used a technique called drifting that consists in driving the car while it´s losing grip in the rear tyres, controlling the inertia to direct the car wherever you want managing the steering, the throttle and the brakes, and from the outside point of view the car moves with elegance, like dancing. Made this inspired by one of my favorites anime off all time: Initial D anime which was inspired by a really driver: Keiichi Tsuchiya, a man who made this an art. In real life i only have done it in a kart (for now) but it was an intoxicating feeling of joy.
Well, with all this said fellas, says goodbye: a lover of speed.

So there is a little bit of history behind this painting, originally I started it about three years ago because I got the opportunity to take an elective class about painting and because I've never been an artistic person I really wanted to do it. This specific painting was supposed to be the last project for that semester but unfortunately that period of time was very difficult for me so I didn't really finish it and because during that time I was struggling so much, my idea behind the painting was how in that moment I saw the world and the people around me to appear so happy and vibrant, and I didn't feel like that at all, which is why there's a ghost in the middle of it I sort of saw it as a representation of how lonely and secluded I felt at that time. Part of my struggle during that period was the feeling that my worth was tied to the things I accomplished and how well I performed on an academic level which sort of caused me to neglect many other things in my life. So getting the opportunity to finish this painting now, even though I know its not great, is very special for me because I see it as an acknowledgement of how much I have grown and changed as a person, which is why one of the changes I made was adding a globe with a happy face, even if it is a little corny lol.

This is the mask of the Blue Spirit from Avatar: The Last AirBender.

There, the prince Zuko is haunting the avatar, Aang, for regain his honor and being accepted back by his father, the Fire Lord, Ozai. In some point of the history, Aang is captured by the rest of the Fire Nation's Army, and Zuko decides to "help" the avatar to scape by using this Alterego, this other face and other being.

For me, this represents some kind of duality and intern fight inside of one the main characters, because this act of using the mask and helpping the person that he's chasing, confronts Zuko to himself and makes to change his point of view of his place inside the Fire Nation and it's the begin of his approach to the avatar.

In "real life", this object it's the materialization of the nostalgia, it is the thing trapped in a time lapse that will never return and that in the present only remains the memory of those days when I built it, used it, and the people with whom I shared it. It's like another kind of duality.

Art has meant a lot to me throughout my entire life. My mother was the one who encouraged me to commit to it from a young age and I've always been inspired by her creativity, talent and love for art.

Growing up and getting many responsibilities drove me away from activities I used to enjoy, and recently, I've been honoring my inner child by doing these activities again.

When the art project was mentioned in class, I immediately thought about the hobbies I'm currently getting back to and decided to go for nature, which is an all-time favorite of mine, for the concept and to use different techniques to test my creativity!

So I picked some of my favorite animals for a forest, drew and colored them, then I painted the landscape and pasted the animals on top. I like how the textures are different and wanted to add volume as well, so I made two flowers with foamy.

I think this is a great activity to test your creativity, you can discover talents you didn't know you had and improve your techniques, which makes this very enjoyable.
