The rainforest is a large ecosystem. Many plants and animals live from each other and with each other - as parasites or in symbiosis - no matter how, they need each other to live, the diverse life.
Culture is also like an ecosystem - full of life and relationships. The culture is enlivened by the symbiosis of the different nations. We humans should open ourselves to the possibilities of symbioses and learn from them. Through joint activities, like playing the Gwo Ka yesterday, we are already forming relationships unconsciously. A symbiosis of the external (parts of the culture of Guadeloupe e.g. Gwo Ka - rhythm) can become a part of my own culture - the internal (Now when I'm stressed I like to listen to the sounds of the Kwo Ka) and the Gwo Ka music and history is getting more attention.

Today's experience in the rainforest ( also RAINforest in its straight meaning) made me think about everybody's co-existance and cooperation with each other just like in the rainforest- where plants live with each other and are important to one another during their lifetime. Exactly the same about our global society with each other becoming closer and more united.
Unity and cooperation is vital in this changing world nowadays, moreover to educate our students who are just growing and developing into global, grown citizens.
Great experience today!

Today we delved into the five dimensions. We have talked about personal identity through our names. The visit to the rainforest makes me ask my question, how do we use nature and its resources? If we don't share, there is no future. In the rainforest, we have several plants and animals that depend on each other, just like us humans. Everything is an ecosystem that we can easily damage. Think globally but act locally.

Day 4. Global world, global community. We had an enjoyable and relaxing day in the rainforest.🌿 We had a great classroom next to the river. We were sitting in a circle and 🍌 bananas grow in a circle. I was amazed to hear that in rainforest together with one tree can grow and live over 4000 spieces together in co-operation and symbiosis. This resembles me of our globe 🌎. We are living here all together and influence each other, humans, nature even bacterias and viruses. Everything has it’s own place. I started thinking today a lot about global responsibility more deeper. How to be more responsible global citizen. What choices to make. And how to teach this to our children.

Google it or go personal? Yesterday, preparing my homework, I thought of what to write. Sometimes it feels a bit anoying not knowing what answer is expected. So I googled the questions, wrote down the answers like an ambitious student and felt satisfied. That feeling lasted until Nette and Anke started with their presentation. I realized my answers weren't personal, they were produced by a computer. With that revelation in mind I will go personal and a little unsecure instead of using Google and hide...

Nature, animals, human beings- can there a co-existence in a rainforest be?
We have been to the rain(rain!)forest, walking to a small waterfall and talked then about our names, meanings, feelings etc. I‘ve never thought about it before so it was interesting to do this first on my own and then comparing to the others and how others took this exercise. It is always about the feelings - in your heart, in your soul and being in the nature (without connection to the internet) helps us tu slow down and think about things without google!

From one experience to another.
Yesterday´s class with Edgar, the rhythm of the drum, incessantly came into my mind creating a symbiosis of yesterday´s class with today´s.
The responsibility of the citizen at a local and global level to promote initiatives that help to protect the environment was a strong feeling.
Today, again, an outdoor lesson, impossible to repeat, with unique scenery, rainforest, waterfall, mongoose, and some birds that came to follow Rita´s lesson.
The thought of going back to an indoor classroom is real nonsense.
Clearly, we had another day of unforgettable experiences!!!!

Another interesting experience: our classroom in the rainforest!
I learned
- why the rainforest ist called RAINforest
- how multiculturalism and internationalism is „organized“ in the rainforest
- that almost half of the plants in Gwada are not native, but have been brought here, e.g. the breadfruit tree was brought here from Malaysia to be used to feed the slaves, the fruit tastes like a potato and has lots of nutrients
- that everything grows very fast
- that banana is the tallest GRASS on our planet
- that names are interpreted in many different ways. It was very an interesting experience to find out and reflect about my name and how the others saw theirs - a task none of us had done before
- last, but not least, how intense a maracuja can taste :-)

The rainforest is a big living being, "dead" trees, tree trunks lying on the ground are the fertile base for hundreds of plants. I knew it before, but again seeing this, experiencing and observing this, taking the time and having a closer look contributed much to what I only knew from school or reading. We were shown plants, like the bread tree, that originally came from a different place and were brought here some centuries ago. Some fruit have become part of the daily food people eat here, which reminds me lots of the potato in Europe. It wasn't known in that part of the world until it was brought there in the 1700s. So here again we see similarities within the differences.
