Intangible cultural heritage.
In Denmark we have a word that describes a culture that for me is intangible. That word is "hygge". Hygge means doing Something Nice and cozy Together and it often involves food. Hygge is Something we are Very fond of in Denmark.

We danes describe our humor as sarcastic and ironic. The ironi will often show it self in the form of ambiguous or contradictory remarks and subtle jokes. For instance bye saying "Good job" , when someone does something wrong on the football field.
That being said we are also very good at turning the irony towards ourselves, many times because we want to disarm a potential embarrassing situation. And even more so to signal that we are not perfect and that we dont take ourselves to seriously.

Back home I often see streets of my town empty and not filled with children who play on them...I would very much like that to change and children learn how to play traditional games. Learning how to play them should improve their communication and social skills. This is so important because I see more and more students that lack of them. So, with our next school Erasmus+ project our goal will be to teach them how to play traditional games like pandolo, pljockanje and prasickanje. We will organize workshops on the streets of our town and call other schools to join in. As the final product we hope to create a methodological material for teachers that they can use in future.

My main wish is to preserve and protect the sacred places on our land, conectet to indigenous people. I will quote some words from the article about that http://staroverci.si/upravljanje-z-naravnimi-svetimi-mesti/
/ ... / The natural the sacred places are known all over the world in indigenous cultures that have lived or still live in their territories and have formed a culture that is inherent in nature.
Despite the fact that for many natives was understood as a sacred whole, there were places that were more important than others.

The sacred places were the most respected places in indigenous cultures and can therefore be considered the oldest protected places in the world since they were protected long before the Yellowstone National Park, which is considered the first protected natural city in the world./.../
/ ... / Like other immovable cultural heritage, as well as natural sacred places subject to protection. Many sacred places have attracted the professional public precisely because of the threat to disappear. Many places are threatened with destruction due to commercialization, the taking of holy places by major religions and the loss of holiness. In order to protect and promote such less well-known places, several international declarations were adopted that deal with natural sacred places in the context of biodiversity, intangible cultural heritage and the rights of indigenous inhabitants./.../
I love to go in nature and I like to discover the lost sacred places, which long time ago meant a lot to the indigenous people.
Description of photo: In the darkness of the cave of Triglavec, two rocks are flirting The people saw them as the divine Devo and the Devas who were mating, and addressed to them request for a good harvest. We would never have known this place if they would not be shown to us by Boris Čok, the only tourist guide in the karst native people rituals.

Christmas is still an important period in Germany. There are different traditions which makes that period special. For example the Adventskalender which was invented in Germany. It is a special calender - not only for children :-) - to count the days from the advent until Christmas. Every day you can open a door and you find chocolate, an image, a poem or a story behind it.

What kind of similar traditions do exist in other countries?

We really need to use the chance that we have today to exchange and compare easily traditions and habits with other countries or regions with digital methods. The only problem is that have to combine it with the school curriculum which is not always so easy but I really want to focus on projects more often.

Bring back the value of communication ! A simple greeting like "good morning" to all people you meet on the way to school or work. It is so often we live in a neigbourhood and pass each other without a word...
After being for a few months in Guadeloupe I got used to greeting everyone with a smile. Just out of habbit i said good morning to a person I met on a street during my visit to Lithuania. He jumped startled, looked at me in disbelief and ask "Do I know you?"
That became a starting point for our pre-school project. All school community made effort to say Good morning not only to people they know but to everyone they meet. Many good moments of happiness, pride and friendliness!!!! Well worth looking back and digging out a custom that is covered with dust...

I just agree to the general samll to basic things I would like to cherish more as you mentioned above, respecting nature more, traditional old games, gatherings with family and friends, greeting and respecting everyone and so on.
As another maybe very foolish or crazy custom one should keep the Carneval. As we are a tiny village in the North of Germany where it is not very common to celebrate it, some person just introduced it there and it is a funny time putting costumes on and just playing around and forgetting any hard times or barriers.
