He is protected by a powerful, immortal monkey named Sun Wukong, who was imprisoned for 500 years for rebelling against Heaven. The duo is joined by two other reformed demons, Zhu Bajie (Pigsy) and Sha Wujing (Sandy), along with a dragon who takes the form of a horse.
