1. I was a little bit confused about what “ejidos” were. I’m sure I just didn’t catch the explanation that the professor gave during class.

At first, I thought the written response was meant to be informal and less essay-ish, but based on this question, I’m assuming we have to format it as an essay (with a thesis that addresses all the requirements) rather than a written response addressing each bullet point one by one. Is that right? 1. Something that I was confused about this week was also the word "ejidos." I have heard that term before but it was never explained in a way that it made sense to me.
2. I sort of have a basic idea of what I would like to mention/add in my written response. I think abortion was a big topic in class and I would like to further analyze that in the response. I do not have my sources/readings picked out yet, but I will soon to get started on the assignment. Last week we read an interesting article that invited us to consider why abortion laws matter (Her Body, Our Laws). In Beatriz 'case, she was three months pregnant when she found out that her baby was anencephalic and that her pregnancy could also put her life at stake. Since, 1998 abortion laws have become more strict in El Salvador, resulting in women having no voice over their bodies when going through a similar situation.

These strict abortion laws are (in my opinion) one of the things that prevent women the most from becoming full citizens.
