The instructor paced quiz was a useful function; I liked it! I did this as part of a pretest before my counseling lesson on careers. I liked that it allowed me to clarify some key terms during the quiz while also giving me an idea of what I needed to spend a little more time on during the lesson. To make it better I could have spent a little less time on each question. The average time taken on each question was shorter than what I had the timer set at, so I could have jumped to the next question sooner or set the timer with a little less time.

I really like how the quiz reports are organized. It is visually very easy to read a lot of information at a glance... especially the "Overview feature". One idea I had as a good use for this data might be to highlight trends and use that in vertical planning. For example, if I find that the majority of 3rd grade students are picking the same career in an open-ended question about what career they would want, that information could be useful in creating career lessons in earlier grades that expose students to a wider range of career options than what they are already familiar with. The data could be useful in many ways!!

I usually remediate and enrich by using Socrative quizzes or just based off of summatives or formatives that we take in class. I have not used Quizizz in the past to enrich or remediate but look forward to using this in the future. I love the different ways Quizizz offers to provide remediation and enrichment, like changing the question type, number of questions, etc. I love the idea of having students do a quiz, using the data to pull a small group, then have students take the quizizz again and reassess.
~Lisa Varini

I love using technology to provide either remediation or enrichment. I like being able to use programs like Happy Numbers (math) and Lalilo (phonics) that provide assessments for students. Then the students are placed at the right level for practice for them. I also like using MAP data to guide which iXLs might best support my students. Likewise, through Canvas I can provide different assignments to my students based on what they need.

By using our LMS system, Canvas, it is possible to assign quizizz within Canvas for students to complete. You can assign as homework and allow students to complete independently and allow for the teacher to check progress on mastery with results. The bonus is you can be specific in who you assign the quizizz to when integrated into the Canvas platform.

Technology is useful for remediation and enrichment even with school counseling. There is program that has been especially useful called Centervention that supports students with social emotional learning. It is a research-based curriculum that actively engages students using online games where students practice and improve social emotional skills. The best part is that is gives me a snapshot of student progress along with formative assessment reports. With the data I can create small groups or individual counseling interventions to focus on skills that need the most improvement.

Quizizz seems like an ideal tool for blended learning. For me using Quizizz as a pre and post test makes sense. We start with a Quizizz pre test, have a counseling lesson together in person, and then finish up with a Quizizz post test. This would also give me great data to show what students learned.

I think that Quizizz could be a helpful component of a blended learning environment. I agree with Sarah - that it gives you the ability to assign specific quizizz to specific students. I could also use reteaching videos and small group instruction and then reassess my students to determine if more instruction is needed.

I created this Quizizz as a pre-test for one of my counseling lessons. The lesson teaches in context behaviors. The quiz was set up as a poll which I thought would be more like a survey and allow students to view the results. The results would also allow me to decide how much time needs to be spent on practicing what is taught in the lesson. This would definitely be a pre-test I would use as a quick starting place before a lesson.
