Know: The activity that helped my knowledge this week was having a one to one editing session with Dave to complete my music video as I had no experience in editing at all. I now know some editing techniques that I didn't know before and how to put them in practice, such as putting a time lapse into a video, speeding footage up and slowing it down.

Do: The new skills I applied this week was learning some editing skills and putting them into practice. This included taking a car time lapse movement. I completed this by taking the footage and speeding everything around it up. The barriers I faced were not knowing how to edit anything and having to be shown step by step with the teacher sitting next to me. I now more confident and feel I could edit footage on my own next time.

Show: Below is a screenshot of our edited footage.

Improve: I feel that next time my production group needs to improve their communication as some of us didn't know what scenes needed to be filmed next or our plan for them. I also feel that I need to personally continue to improve my editing skills as that is the one area of media I feel I lack knowledge in. To improve our video for next time we need to use more editing technique's such as cutting to the beat and more fasted paced to our video.

Know: The activity I feel helped me the most this week was creating a group profile to help us establish our job roles in making our music videos. I have learnt that a lot more goes into making music videos than I orginally thought such as the amount of research that is done before they are made.

Do: The new skill that I applied this week was working with people in the class that I don't really know and don't really get on with. I feel this was a barrier at first as I was worried how much each member contribute and if their lack of work would effect my own grade. Another new skill I applied this week was creating a PowerPoint explaining why I should be the director of my groups music video and the quailities I would bring to that role.

Show: Below is the PowerPoint I created to express my desire to be director of my groups music video.

Improve: To improve my work in the future I need to work on my patience with other members of my group who I don't normally work with. Another way to improve my work is to add more detail into written work.

I feel this helped me because I was able to put my ideas down on paper rather than remembering all of them in my head and maybe forgetting critical information. I now know how to create mind maps and add detail to them. I feel this will help me in future in planning both work I do at college and at home.

Do: The new skills that I applied this week were creating mind maps on Padlet. We then had to create a Padlet post for each era and write about why it contained that technique. The music video feel inspired me the most and has the most techingues I would like to use in my own video is Michael Buble Haven't Met You Yet because I feel its has a good mixture of both urban and nature images. I also feel it contained some techniques I plan to use such as close up camera images unique camera movements and a good narrative story.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AJmKkU5POA

Show: Below is an example of my Padlet post from this week which shows the work I have completed.

Improve: To improve my work for next time I need to have a better understanding of Muti images in music videos and understand more how I would find them. I found four different music videos from each era one showing narrative which is where the video tells a story, one with live concert footage which is where the music video has some elements of live footage, a parody which is where the song that fun of another song or recent event and finally a commerical which is where the song is used to advertise something.

Show: I presented my work in Padlet post see below.

Improve: I struggled to find any sort of parody video and I feel it would have been helpful to shown more examples before I completed my own research.
