Project Duration - 6 years. The overall goal of the SAEP is to contribute to the reduction of poverty and vulnerability of men and women in rural communities in the tri-island state of Grenada. The development objective of SAEP is for Project beneficiaries to improve their livelihoods and resilience by accessing new jobs starting up/ consolidating businesses and adopting CSA practices. The overall target/ direct user beneficiaries are estimated at 7,500 rural poor households having access to different services of the programme. At SAEP’s close of programme implementation in 2023 it is estimated that 4,500 households will benefit from technical and financial support services (financed by IFAD) and 3,000 households from 30 rehabilitated rural roads and drainage works (financed by the Caribbean Development Bank) which will improve and/or maintain climate resilience, physical access to markets, processing and storage facilities in the Programme area. In addition, it is estimated that the following outputs will take place at the end of the programme, (i) 120 enterprises created/consolidated (ii) 400 youth receiving Vocational and Skills Training (iii) 500 receiving technical support services (iv) 400 youth accessing youth Business Grant Fund (v) 270 rural enterprises accessing business development services (vi) 400 persons reporting an increase in production (by sex and age) of Household head. (vii) 2,200 persons (by sex, age) trained in innovative technologies, smart agriculture and Climate Change (viii) 1,200 persons (by sex, age) trained in production practices and/or technologies] (ix) 400 farmers (by sex, age) receiving market support services (x) 120 adaptation and climate smart investment projects financed through CSA Grant Fund (xi) 60 backyard gardens financed through CSA Grant Fund.
