It is also stored here however the stores are limited.&nbsp; Creatine phosphate can supplythe energy needs of a working muscle at a very high rate, but only for about 8–10 seconds. done anaerobically. for example power lifters would use this as their main energy system source<br>&nbsp;</div><div>2) What is Creatine Phosphate and what is it used for?&nbsp;<br>= compound made and stored in the muscles used for the first few seconds of high intensity anaerobic exercise as it can be broken down quickly and used however stores are very limited.&nbsp;<br>3) What type of exercise/sport is the PC system best used for?<br>= high intensity lasting between 0-10 seconds. eg hammer throw, javelin, discus, 100 m sprint, weight lifters (1RM)&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</div><div>4) What happens 'chemically' during the us of this system?&nbsp;<br>= PC = p + c + e&nbsp;<br>E = ADP + P (i) =&nbsp; E   (coupled reaction) <br><br>&nbsp;5) How long does this system last and does it use oxygen?<br>= anaerobic and 8 - 10 seconds</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Since this process does not need oxygen to re-synthesize ATP, it is anaerobic, or oxygen-independent. As the fastest way to re-synthesize ATP, the phosphate system is the predominant energy system used for all-out exercise lasting up to about 10 seconds. A sporting example would be the 100m sprint as you're not needing oxygen as it is a fast and powerful movement. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>What happens 'chemically' during the us of this system?<br> </div><div>An ATP molecule consists of one <strong>adenosine</strong> and three (tri)<strong> phosphate</strong>groups</div><div>The breakdown of ATP to release the stored chemical energy within its high energy phosphate bonds is known as ATP hydrolysis (hydrolysis = breakdown with water). </div><div>ATP hydrolysis is triggered by the arrival of an action potential (electrical impulse) at the sarcomere (the contractile unit in human muscle) from the motor neuron (neuron/nerve that tells the muscle to contract). </div><div>It results in the last phosphate group splitting away from the ATP molecule and releasing energy for muscle contraction <br><br></div>]]></description>
