I will be sending a new one of these each school morning to your parent's e-mail! It'll contain all of our schoolwork for the day. Any assignment submissions can be turned in through our class site (Edmodo). You should aim for one hour of schoolwork each school day! Don't forget about Ms. Garbett's weekly French work (posted on her Brightspace site), which you can access through your BYOD page (https://byod.peelschools.org/), and Mr. Bieman's Music page, which you can access through Google Classrooms (https://classroom.google.com/). The Grade 4 music class code is bejzcmq, and the Grade 5 music class code is jreycjw.

Canada before 1713 Assignment (Timeline)

This assignment is also posted on Edmodo, with it's 'Turn In' portal there!

Using the resource below, read pages 106 to 109. The page where the timeline finishes is the final page! We'll be going over a brief history of Canada before the 1800s, starting as early back as the Vikings arriving in 1000 CE (that's 1000 years ago)! Your job (after reading through these pages and looking over the timeline) is to make your own timeline using the creator below.

You'll be responsible for creating a beginning event (the Vikings in 1000 CE), an end event (the English takeover of New France in Canada), and four more events of your choosing in between. Don't forget to label the date, have a short description, and add a picture!

I've attached a sample good copy (with just two events completed), along with a RWT file you can open in the Timeline with the first two events done for you. This way you can get a head start on your work!

Timeline Creator
http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/timeline_2/

You can submit your answers in our Social Studies section on Edmodo.
