People identify with race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, politics, and many other dimensions. They also identify with circles of physical space: their friend group, their work table, their class, their school. I feel that this course is about leveraging that tendency to create a new circle within the FLEX team. Part of that working involves having things that make our FLEX team specific to "just us". My goal in FLEX is to find ways to develop activities, rituals, and other things that make my students feel that there is something unique and special about OUR FLEX team. I want to walk into school the first day of this semester with a concrete plan to make that happen. My first step will be to employ the students' help in this endeavor.
