Just recently, I had to go out to my cousins house . My mother booked the GRAB before we went down to wait for the taxi drivers to respond. After 15 minutes of waiting, no one responded and we couldn't even flag down any taxis as they were either already on call or there were people travelling in them. We were tired of this and instead took the train. To add on to the fact that i don't like taking taxis during the peak hours, what if i had an appointment for something and i need to take the taxi? I wouldn't be so sure i will reach my destination on time if it is during the peak hours.To sum up, I like travelling except for when it is during the peak hours.

If I am travelling during peak hours, I can use the money I have saved up by travelling during off-peak hours. 
This can also help me to wake up earlier and that would be very useful to me as I tend to sleep late and therefore wake up late and often find myself late for school. 
If my goal was arriving to school before 7 in the morning, I would definitely sleep earlier and that will dramatically help my sleep schedule and I will not feel drowsy in class anymore due to lack of sleep
So all in all, I would be interested to travel during off-peak hours as it will help me save money and improve my sleep schedule.

E- Once, my family and I decided to go to Jewel in the morning and return home at night. We took the bus to and from Jewel. When we were going to Jewel, there was not much crowd on the bus. Because of this, we were able to have a seat on the bus. However, when we were taking the bus to return home, there was a huge crowd. We had to wait for the next bus as the first bus was packed with people. The next bus was also filled with a lot of people but not as much as the first bus. We had to stand on the bus while journeying back home. I felt tired as we had to stand on the bus while carrying a heavy bag. I learnt that we should try to avoid travelling during peak hours.

I had to stand up and squeeze in with other passengers. It was during the COVID-19 pandemic as well. There was a high risk for my family and I to get infected. It is vey risky to board buses and trains during peak hours as it will be very crowded, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. R- Evidently mentioned on the poster, they said that we can enjoy free rides and lately I have been wanting to save money for other purposes so I think it is a good idea to travel off peak hours so that I can save money. My parents and I know a lot of money is put in for transport as I take the bus everyday to reach to school so I think they would also agree. I also have been trying to reach to school a bit early so I think that this is a good practice and motivation for me. Usually during off peak hours the buses are quite empty so it would be a better, more relaxing and more convenient way to travel.
E- During times such as covid 19 or SARS when overcrowding is discouraged this is also a golden opportunity for people to travel for free and reduce spreading of such diseases.
E- I remember just recently my family and I wanted to go to a friend's birthday party but due to heavy crowding my parents decided to not use buses and trains. We tried a lot to look for a taxi and couldn't find one. We tried GRAB as well. After many failed attempts we finally found a car but is was really expensive and my father had to pay a hefty price for it. I was really frustrated and upset that we had to wait so long and have to pay so much money.

(R)-This is because during off-peak hours when traffic jams occur,which has very low chances of happening in the first place,it would less congested and it would only last for 10 to 15 minutes compared to the 20 to 30 minutes of traffic that occurs during peak hours.This would also lower the chances of me being late for school and tuition significantly.

(E)-For example,if school starts at 7.30a.m. and it takes 5minutes to get there if there are interruptions I should leave at 6.50a.m. so that I will have very low chances of being late for school compared to when i leave at 7.10a.m. where even the smallest amount of traffic can cause me to be late for school.This has even happend to me once this year in the first term which was when my form teacher pointed out that of peak hours have less traffic so I can come to right on time for school.This does not only apply to school when I am going out with my parents we usually take grab,if my father is checking on what is going on at work place,during the weekend and these times are usually these are peak hours thus even if we book our grab it would not arrive on time and we try to flag down a taxi they would either be on call or already taken.

(E)-I feel that Waking up early so that I can travel during off peak hours will not only cause me to be early it would also have me make a better sleep schedule so that I can wake up earlier.

E: In the event of emergencies, it is certainly important to ensure that you have sufficient savings. During the pandemic, several people suffered heavy losses and even retrenchment. This resulted in many people having to live off their savings to get by. If they did not have savings, they would have insufficient funds to even eat. 
E: My neighbour used to earn a lucrative salary of $8000 a month. However, when COVID-19 struck, he was retrenched by his company and he had to take on the job of a delivery rider. However, he was always in good spirits. When I asked him what the secret to his happiness was, he mentioned that he was very frugal and had kept a side a tidy sum of savings from his previous job. That was how his family had managed to get by. 
E (myself): I get $2 daily from my parents. I only spend $1 on food and drinks and save the rest. My parents have instilled in me the habit of saving since I was a pre-school student. All my red packet money was saved up by my parents, despite my protests. On hindsight, I think that they did the right thing as I have learnt the importance of living within my means.
Contrasting opinion: While my neighbour could save due to his large salary from before, not many people can afford this luxury. The lower-income families may only be earning enough to get by. Hence, saving may not be possible for them. 
S: All in all, (opinion) I believe that saving is a good habit to cultivate if you can afford to do so. R: This is because commuters would have been inconvenienced by the delays and may even miss important meetings or commitments. 
E: In 2021, Singapore experienced two train service disruptions on two consecutive days. This was terribly unfortunate and inconvenient for the commuters. Some were trapped in the stalled train for more than two hours while others were stuck in the train station, unable to make it for work or school. 
E: Once, when I was on the way to my piano recital, I experienced a train service disruption due to a technical issue. As a result, my train was delayed by thirty minutes. Fortunately, I had planned to leave the house early and made it to my piano recital on time. However, the same could not be said for the many angry commuters who were demanding for refunds from the ticketing staff. 
R: Another scenario where free rides may be made available is for commuters who are lower-income earners. They may benefit from subsidised or free rides as they may not be able to afford public transport, given the frequent fare hikes.
E: The latest fare hike just occurred in 2022. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, prices of goods and services in Singapore keep sky-rocketing although people are not earning more. Hence, if these low-wage workers can save money on transport fare, I believe it will benefit them. 
(Big picture): That being said, companies like SMRT may be wary of giving free services as these may be taken advantage of by some. When the government distributed free masks and ART kits, some dishonest people took advantage of the opportunity and took the items for themselves. Hence, there is always such a risk involved when giving free services. Companies must be careful and ensure that the correct people are benefiting from the service.
