This is the day I regret the most. I got sick just before creating my first lesson plan in two years. I started questioning whether this path is really right for me—wondering why, at the very moment I needed to be well, I ended up getting sick.

No lesson plans made and 2 of my supervisors were mad yet totally get their point as they are the ones molding me to be back to what I started hence I really do appreciate them.

Today tested both my physical strength and commitment as a future educator.

Despite still battling tonsillitis, I reported to school and visited the clinic. Though hesitant, I followed the nurse’s advice to continue with my lab tasks. Encouraged by my two supervisors, I was reminded that caring for myself is essential—my students’ learning can’t wait.

Later, I attended a meeting with Prof. Broño and Prof. Pimentel after being absent on February 4. I arrived slightly late, so I waited until the meeting ended around 4 PM. During that time, I presented my medical certificate to the university nurses. Nurse Marinas recommended a CBC and platelet count to confirm if my fever was viral.

In the meeting that followed, we discussed ways to strengthen my commitment, including:

• Keeping my Facebook status set to “Online”

• Avoiding “Do Not Disturb” mode

• Communicating regularly with both professors

• Preparing and submitting my lesson plan early for review and practice

Though tiring, the day reminded me of the resilience this profession demands—and the guidance I’m fortunate to have.

This is my first weekend feeling half-hearted once again, as it marks a realization—I am not the same sunshine I used to be.

It was also my first time attending a flag ceremony.

My Araling Panlipunan supervisor guided me to take pictures of all the lessons that needed to be completed on the assigned dates. This way, I could accomplish them ahead of time—something I was doing for the first time. I followed her advice, as she is very organized and helped me approach the tasks in a structured manner.

My camera roll is now full of lesson materials for Grades 6, 7, and 10. We left school around 7:15 PM, and I arrived home at around 9 PM. Despite the distance, I remain committed to fulfilling all that needs to be done at school.

• Arrived at school for Prof. Pimentel’s 7–9 AM class.

• Began working on the Grade 6 lesson plan: Ang Pananakop ng Japan sa Pilipinas, scheduled for Tuesday, February 11 (3–5 PM, double period), as assigned by Prof. Pimentel on February 5.

• During the Grade 10 Magiting lecture at 8 AM, I was tasked with reviewing the PPT file (2nd Qtr-AP6-Week 3–4 SY 2024–2025) and completing the lesson for the upcoming Grade 6 class in Prof. Pimentel’s absence.

• From 9–10 AM, I created an outline at the ITL Library and drafted a Google Docs file titled Grade 6 Slide Presentation Guide for Prof. Pimentel’s Class.

• At around 3 PM, I was called to the faculty room to assist with an auxiliary task: locating Prof. Lorena.

• From 5:00 to 7:45 PM, I attended a consultation with initial topic assignments for the week of February 10.

• The Grade 6 lesson plan was checked before the end of the day at 7:45 PM.

I was instructed to create a quiz and prepared a remedial quiz for Grade 5 students under the guidance of my new, hands-on supervisor, Prof. Kim. The task was well-coordinated with my other supervisor, Prof. Broño.

Grade 5 was my most challenging class so far, yet they were incredibly sweet—one student even gave me a sticker despite it being quiz day.

I facilitated tasks for Grade 6, 7, and 10 students, despite Prof. Pimentel being unresponsive due to seminars. This was my way of giving back to the students I missed last week. I also submitted their tasks and left them on Prof. Pimentel's desk over three days.

Additionally, I observed Prof. Kim’s Grade 5 class for the first time, attended my own class assessment in the main building, and fulfilled my tasks with Prof. Pimentel and Prof. Brono's english classes.

This is my first time drafting exam questions for Grade 8 students, guided by Prof. Kim. And assisted classroom activities on both under Porf Kim and Prof Brono's class.

A productive Wednesday: I drafted my reconsideration letter to email to Prof. Broño and had my first virtual meeting with Prof. Kim, alongside Prof. Broño.

I assisted Prof. Broño's English class while completing the Grade 6 second-quarter eClass record as requested.

For Prof. Kim, I was tasked with creating a quiz for Grade 5 students, not Grade 8, as Prof. Kim needed it done promptly due to upcoming Sangandiwa activities for Grade 5 next week.

Today was my first time attending the Sangandiwa activities with all CTL students, especially those under Prof. Broño and Prof. Kim. I documented the event on video and compiled it with fellow practice teachers: Teacher Emman, Aira, Jomar, JV, and Teacher Jules.

I officially submitted the Grade 5 and Grade 8 test papers to Prof. Kim for the 2nd Quarter Examination. These will be photocopied by Sir Dennis of CTL for use in next week’s exams.

March 5
I assisted Prof. Kim in facilitating the Grade 8 exams. It was heartwarming to see the students answering the test I had prepared, even though it was Ash Wednesday. We initially faced a delay in printing the test papers, but with my follow-ups to Sir Dennis and Prof. Kim’s coordination with CTL, we managed to distribute them on time—for Grade 5 in the morning and Grade 8 in the afternoon.

March 6
I observed Grade 6 students as they practiced their dances and prepared for their MAPEH activities during Prof. Brono’s class.

March 7
I experienced my first Family Day with students and their families from Grades 3 and 6 under Prof. Brono, and Grades 5 and 8 under Prof. Kim. I was assigned to the sticker booth with CTL students and their families. Seeing them interact reminded me of the important role I play in their lives—not just as a teacher, but as someone who contributes to their growth through everyday classroom experiences.

March 10 marked my first demo teaching after two years of being a stagnant student teacher. It was nerve-wracking and embarrassing, especially with third-year students—my juniors—observing under Prof. Kim. Being judged in real time felt overwhelming; I even considered walking away. I questioned whether I should still pursue teaching, feeling like I was too late. Despite the self-doubt, I now see this experience as a major stepping stone.

My third-year observers and supervisor noted areas for improvement, particularly in instructional materials:

• Use of appropriate font styles, sizes, and italicization

• Uploading clearer images as a backup in case of internet issues

• Utilizing Canva’s presenter view for smoother delivery

Though I felt distant from my supervisor due to not meeting expectations as a senior, I stayed motivated by focusing on the students—ensuring the lessons I deliver can truly benefit them in their daily lives.

Grade 5 Demonstration – Impluwensiya ng mga Espanyol sa Kulturang Pilipino

I prepared tarpapel and other materials for my demo teaching.

Initially, I faced a challenge in the classroom due to the lack of an adapter—my laptop couldn’t function without being plugged in. Thankfully, a fellow practice teacher lent me his laptop, allowing me to proceed with my presentation.

Despite the setbacks, I was able to deliver the lesson successfully by using the whiteboard and markers. The Grade 5 students were very participative and engaged, which made the experience truly enjoyable.

I was especially touched by the kind words from my supervisor, Prof. Kim—it was my first time receiving such a compliment. Coming from someone whose expectations I hadn’t previously met, it meant a lot. It reminded me that I must continue to improve, not just for myself, but for my students' growth as well.

These days were filled with mixed emotions, made even more challenging by the weather, but I’m grateful I got through it—with the help and encouragement of my supervisors and fellow practice teachers. Their support and wisdom are things I’ll carry forward, both as a person and as a future teacher.

It was declared a period for us to use the online modality, during which I became a student-teacher observer. At that time, I observed third-year students during their demo teaching, as well as Grade 8 students. I was reminded to stay humble and eagerly assisted the student teachers after their demos by collecting the students’ outputs and individually sending them to the respective student teachers for checking. Afterward, I encoded the results into the e-class record shared between me and Prof. Kim. This process allowed us to track the students' submissions and their entries for each activity.

It was my first time to simply facilitate and be with the students under Prof. Brono at CTL. I was wearing plain white denim pants and a jacket. Since I hadn’t received a proper orientation beforehand, I ended up wearing the wrong uniform on my first day of observation. Despite that, I was excited when my supervisor instructed me to wear my Practicum blue shirt every Tuesday and Thursday, and the yellow polo shirt every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

I was also excited to buy a new pair of black shoes using my personal savings from a previous job, along with perfume, toiletries, and ballpens for checking student activities in the future. Looking forward to meaningful days ahead with my supervisor, Prof. Pimentel—also known as Dr. Pimentel—I felt grateful, as it was my first time having a professor or cooperating teacher closely guiding me.
