*Take the Live Class Connects schedule for next year and edit to include a built in slot for AR.

*Use books that you read aloud to your class. Use these to model how to take an AR quiz and create a "habit" of this.

*Share AR goals at conferences.

*Share AR progress as a student/class every two weeks.

*Make SMART goals at conferences.

*Create a "Radical Readers" AR Book Club. Hold a raffle using "punch cards". One hole punch for each book read and AR quiz passed. Each card punched 10 times goes into a basket for a monthly raffle. New book or cozy socks mailed home within that month. ("You knock my SOCKS off! Thank you for being a "toe-tally" awesome reader!")

*Class Challenge for total words read.

*Show students how to find MyOn and Big Universe.

*Model how to use MyOn and Big Universe.

*Make specific AR time in our busy schedules, possibly on Fridays.

*Buddy up with a grade-level partner to make it fun and more consistent.

-Browse digital libraries as a class to encourage browsing for books! Some students really haven't just browsed "for fun"

-Providing thematic reading suggestions in PP or ELA classes...i.e. Winter Books, Summer Books, Author studies, Informational Reads

-Encouraging Monthly Book Challenges

I have a slide for PP that I celebrate everyone who took and passed an AR Quiz.

I share the word count every day.

Include books they can take AR Quizzes on in tiered instruction to motivate the struggling readers.

Choose books with AR quizzes that go along with standards we are focusing on to read in whole group classes.

Encourage early finishers to read in MyOn, Big Universe, Epic!, or their own books instead of leaving class early.

We did a read-a-loud every Thursday in Paw Pride. Then students complete the quiz.

*Creating a visual to show how the students are doing well encourage them to read. This includes a thermostat or goal sheet of reaching their goals.

*A monthly raffles for a free Amazon book under $15.

*If students reach a goal of 100,000 a small reward like a blooket game. 500,000 a virtual class party. One million could be a challenge or in person outing. You can be creative on what you would like to do.

*Shout outs for students who are meeting their goals.

*During Awards recognizing students who are meeting their goals.
