I made a lot of good memories and learnt so much about Vietnam. Going to the museum to see all the pictures and memorials of the American War made me feel overwhelmed and I felt so bad seeing how the Vietnamese people were tortured and killed. This has made me appreciate so much more of Singapore and our history. The rice planting that we did was unforgettable as I did not know how tiring it must have been for the farmers to plant every single day for every single crop while taking care of it. I was happy I got to experience this as we do not have such an activity that we can easily do in Singapore. We got to eat unqiue cuisines from Vietnam and we got to experience the life of Scouts in the academy on the second day. The third and fourth day was truly an unforgettable experience as we got to interact with the students at the school while doing our VIA project that we planned in Singapore. I will never forget how wonderful this trip was for me and how I was able to spend good quality time with not only my CCA mates, but my teachers and other students from their different CCAs. I'm thankful that I was able to take part in such a trip, that I was able to gain experience from it & being able to go to Vietnam. The paddy field experience taught me not only to not waste food, but it also taught me to appreciate everything that is going on behind my bowl of food everyday.Most importantly, i made many new friends through the trip, not only new vietnamese friends but also new friends from my school that i never knew existed. This trip made me feel proud to be a singaporean and learn to be more of a independant person as a whole.
