My Heritage is Japan.

A Delicacy from my Country

This is a mochi rice cake and I eat it all the time, it is a rice flower wrap with a white sugar paste in the middle of it, it is usually often eaten with some green tea but you can eat it just by itself.<3

Recipe to make it:

1 cup of Mochi flour or rice flour (sweetened)
3/4 cups of water
2 cups of sugar
Anko, with is a japanese bean paste
(optional) green tea of any type of flavor of ice cream.

Steps:

1. Mix the water and the Mochi flour together in a microwave safe bowl
do this one tbsp at a time
2. steam the dough you made for 20 minutes in a steamer
3. Transfer it into a pot, with 1/3 of sugar and wait til the sugar is dissolved then add the last part of the sugar into it and make sure not to burn the sugar.
4. Take hot mochi out of the bowl and shaped and stretch it out to what you want the shape to be.make sure to dust it with the cornstartch first

We celebrate Christmas like people do in the Americas but we don't sit down and eat ham and stuffing and vegtables. We eat our suppers with, KFC.

US comparison to Japanese comparison of currency's worth.
US Money: 1
US Money's worth in Japan: 89 cents.
So in Japan, a dollar is equal to 89 cents in America.

One of Japan's Monuments is, Himeji-jo Castle.
The Castle was established in 1346. A warleader named, Toyotomi Hideyoshi built up the castle to live in. In start of the Edo period, in went into of 9 years of renovation to be looked at the same as today.

I know that, Buddhism is one of the top religions in Japan. Also, in Japan the Bushido code was severely pushed and if you broke the code, you will either be executed or if you decided not to get executed. NO lie

Push and Pull Factors of my Family.

My Grandmother on my Father’s side was Japanese. My Grandmom was born in Korea, not Japan When Korea was under Japanese occupation in World War II. After Japan lost, World War II, My Grandmothe, and Japanese farmers had to leave Korea immediately. And that is how they went back to their mother country and lived there until the end of the war.

Also, my Grandfather on my dad’s side was a World War II soldier. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, My Grandparents on my father's side were originally from Ireland. The reason they came to the United States was very likely as a result of the Potato Famine that took place and because of the Potato Famine they all went to the United States and ended up in Brooklyn New York. Patrick Walsh entered the United States air force, and served in the United States air force sergeant because he was in the Armed Forces, he was stationed all over the globe and one place where he was stationed was in the post- World War IIJapan. He met his future wife and my future Grandmother. He eventually he got stationed back into the United States and when that happened he was married in Japan and moved to the United States, where they ended up living in San Pedro, California. That’s the basic short story on how f my family was formed.
