This program is definitely a more intensive study abroad program. I can say by far my listening ability in Japanese has improved the most since being here. i enjoyed being able to fully dive into Japanese courses and really focus on my passion which is studying Japanese. as a Japanese major i could fill up my schedule without really having to force myself to take courses i didn't need. i would say every course i took here has in some way contributed to my Japanese proficiency.

Through this exchange experience, I truly feel that it was incredibly valuable and meaningful.

Traveling only allows us to stay in a place briefly and quickly glance at the scenery,

but studying abroad lets us slowly integrate into the culture—appreciating the beauty of nature, the vibrancy of the city, and the peacefulness of the streets.

During my time here, I also made many close friends and experienced dormitory life, something I had never imagined before.

In class, I met classmates from different parts of the world.

Listening to their experiences broadened my horizons in so many ways.

This is my first exchange class, so it's quite fun to try something new, but sometimes it can be lonely because I'm the only one studying here, and it's hard to make friends sometimes. But in terms of learning, I learned something new in a way that is not like in my country.

Studying in Japan is really different from studying in Taiwan, in Taiwan, we only have 50 minutes for 1 period, but in Japan, it is 100 minutes! I think it is great to have Japanese students in the class as class guests, that make me have to speak Japanese.

I really enjoyed this exchange program. In the beginning, it was a little hard to adjust to the new lifestyle, especially because I didn't know anyone. But after the first few weeks, it was extremely easy to find a new routine and do new things. I had so much fun meeting new people from around the world and I really like how most of the students in the dorm are international (makes it easier to make friends). The classes were pretty easy and allowed for time to have our own lives and explore Japan. This program has changed my life and will be an unforgettable experience. I wish I could stay here with the people I've met longer.

　ここで留学した一年間、他の国の友達と出会って、本当に嬉しかったです。最初は日本語を話す自信はあんまり持ってないけど、体験活動や会話の授業でいっぱい練習した今は、少しでも自信が増えました。

　国際寮やプログラムのイベントはすごく面白かったです。ハロウィンパーティーや映画鑑賞会とか、本当に楽しかったです。寮長と寮母もとても優しいです。皆さまのおかげで、ここで充実の留学生活を過ごしました、本当にありがとうございます！

My experience of speaking Japanese with local students became a great support for my future studies and helped boost my confidence.

Until now, I didn’t have many opportunities to talk with people from different countries, but through this exchange program, I was able to improve my Japanese in a practical and meaningful way.

To be honest, the students from my university seemed to have mixed feelings about Obirin, mainly the options for classes. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but the exchange program definitely did not disappoint. At least for me, this place is great to get a feel of what it is like to live in 21st century Japan. I didn't treat my time here as a vacation, and that was pretty easy to do. I wanted to learn and live in Japan and that is exactly what I got. The students and sensei's here also give me hope for Japan's future.

Participating in this exchange program was an unforgettable and valuable experience. Being immersed in Japanese culture and daily life allowed me to learn things that cannot be found in textbooks. I think the exchange program will likely be one of the great peaks of my lifetime. I really enjoyed living in Fuchinobe and interacting with the locals. The teachers and staff at the university itself were engaging and I genuinely feel that my Japanese language skills have improved during my time here. And, being able to explore Tokyo was wonderful. I will forever look back on this year fondly.
