The Ancient Greeks built a society where they were not in charge of the dirty work, instead leaving it to the enslaved.

Aristotle believed that Human beings were a commodity of a conquered city and therefore were the property of of the victors as soon as they seized the city. Ancient Greeks viewed enslaved people as their rightful property or an addition to the household no more unusual than a kitchen or a bathroom.

In order to justify their actions, the Greeks tried to differentiate free men and slaves. Aristotle questioned this and focused on other beings that he declared were made for enslavement, and to which extent enslavement was morally satisfactory.
