Mr Lim here. I hope that you guys have a better understanding of Communism after the lesson. 

Task: 
All of us know that terrorism is currently a big threat. Groups like ISIS have admitted responsibility to the recent bombing in Baghdad, Iraq. (http://edition.cnn.com/2016/07/07/middleeast/iraq-baghdad-bomb-toll-rises/)  

As a reflection process, I would like all of you to think the possible similarities between terrorism and communism using these questions to help you.

1. Name the characteristics of communism (at least 2 aspects)
2. Explain why was it perceived as a threat by the British?
3. In your opinion, what are the similarities between Communism and Terrorism?

I think that both communism and terrorism are a major threat to the world. Both can cause a huge change and make the world a hell like place to live in. Both stared by one group or individual but now being carried out by many people and groups. I think that communism and terrorism started mainly because of the unfairness in a country or may have just stared by people who just wants to oppose the government and specific group of people. Communism is sharing the wealth equally among everybody . This sentence means that there will be no upper , middle or lower classes people. Communism equals to no poverty , communism flourished in the Soviet Union (USSR).
Communism is perceived as a threat by the British as communism itself is bad,due to a few reasons , there is the domino effect where communism spreads quickly to the other countries. The other reasons is since Money buys power and that powers make more money thus people would not want to lose money causing it to be a big threat to the British.
The use of propaganda is similar between terrorism and communism , they both uses propaganda to brain wash the people like what happened in the Vietnam war and Korean War ,these two communism and terrorism are both serious cases and a big threat to everybody these two things are just heartless and a cruel thing someone can do.

One of the characteristics of communism is that everything is equal and shared. All of them are viewed commonly and that everyone is treated the same and must have a job. The other characteristics is that the people have limited human rights like for example they do not have rights to vote and the leader is chosen solely by the communist party. They are denied freedom of speech, right to choose their job and right to free market. The British perceived it as a threat as communism is bad in thee way that they use force to control the people and that acts of defiance will result in them being sent to camps to be brainwashed. Communism usually believes that only one person is needed to rule the entire country, all other people will just have to follow the 'leader'. They also believe that everyone should be treated equally(But not fairly).

It was a threat to the British as it gave them a bad name.

The people living in communist countries are treated equally, regardless of their achievements. Means of production are controlled by the state which means no one can own his or her own business or produce his or her own goods because the state owns everything.

communism is equal rights and earnings among different income groups. it aims for equality but it defies against the british as the britsh wanted to rule democratically unlike the communist, therefore they were known for being "anti-communists". The british did not how communism worked as its all about being "equal" and having "the same substantial rights" despite their backgrounds be it poor or rich or how far they have achieved. Communism is a political theory that give a citizen necessaries of life and nothing else. There is no differentiation of class. The wealth should be shared among all citizens. Citizens are taught and trained from young to see the ruler as God and to believe whatever he says. As result, the citizens turn to 'robots' with a fixed mind set.
In my opinion, the British feared that there might be a spread also known as the domino effect among the Asia region. They did not want to people to be confined in a place and they believed in freedom of mankind.
