A Day in My Life

Let us see. There are three hundred and sixty-five days in a year. I am going to choose just one day in my life that was perhaps memorable till this day. Here it goes………. A day in my life would be when I first started dancing Bharatanatyam, an Indian classical dance. I was eight at that time. . I never knew that this kind of thing existed, literally. I was just that dumb and naive. I use to wonder why on earth is my mother taking me to a strange place with this lady(the Bharatanatyam teacher) sitting cross-legged on the floor and tapping a stick where all these other kids were following with various hand and leg movements. As the years pass, I begun to understand that Bharatanatyam was not just some lame, flimsy aerobics class. It was actually a devine art performed by temple dancers to honour the gods and goddesses. My love for this amazing art grew and I was so enraptured by the songs meaning, expressions, the beats and rhythm. With that said, I really appreciate my mother for introducing and encouraging me to dance. Not to forget my Bharatanatyam teacher for putting up with me for all these years.
