I really dislike vocabulary lists. It is usually quite time-consuming to prepare tasks for a given list. wordsmyth.com and online dictionaries are the sources that I use. I also make up games like putting 3-4 target vocabulary items in boxes and students (usually in groups) try to use those words in a sentence to get a box. The group that gets the most boxes win:)

Best approaches for ERROR CORRECTION? So I identify with the teacher in the lesson a bit. I like the approach- identify the words you know (perhaps only receptively) and then use them in sentences (context given - a picture). But then the students use the incorrect form of the word. This happens to me a lot in class, be it incorrect form/meaning/collocation. Error correction in the video is verbal. I know it takes time, but I think the students have to write the sentences and then take time to correct them. Does anyone agree or is verbal correction enough here? What is the best way correct these errors?

I also think that giving these words without a context is useless. Sts should see them in a sentence or a paragraph. They can guess the meaning also the form of them.Ezgi A.
