      <description>A plant molecular biologist based in North Carolina, Dr. Sathya Sheela Jali works on the molecular screening team at Pairwise in Durham. She joined the genome editing company in 2018 and has worked on various projects aimed at breeding improved fruits and vegetables. Her expertise lies in genome editing, plant genotyping, and CRISPR technology. Dr. Sathya Jali is also an expert in understanding plant phenotyping methods for various plants, fruits, and vegetables, including tomatoes and sweet potatoes.

In preparation for her career in biology, Dr. Jali earned a bachelor of science in horticulture and master&#39;s degrees in floriculture and landscaping and plant genetic manipulation. She went on to earn a PhD in biology from Western University and completed two postdoctoral fellowships. Dr. Jali also worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center in Madison, Wisconsin. She has published work in The Plant Journal and Plant Physiology and has presented at several conferences. In addition, she holds two scientific patents.

Outside of work, Dr. Sathya Sheela Jali enjoys gardening and working on arts and crafts projects. She is also an avid traveler.</description>
