It is brass, with a conical bore, and comes in several different shapes, from straight to S-shaped. Other instruments, such as the viol, the bagpipe, and the recorder, were also used in Renaissance music.

One should always be sure to make a show of washing their hands before meals- "whoever dips into the same bowl as you will be certain of your cleanliness."
Any utensils were generally communally used, but respectfully wiped off with a napkin before being returned to the dish. 
If dining at a table in the renaissance, you should definitely cough at the same time to distract if you have to fart at the table. They did not support double dipping, though. Fun times at the dinner table!

In order for this to happen, new ships had to be designed and built. The Spanish Galleon was one for the most popular trading/exploring ships, due to its large size, ability to carry heavy artiliry, and its ability to run on a tack not entirely dependent on the direction of the wind.
