This is important to notice because it shows the fact that the people in China do not want others to know about what is happening. This also then clearly shows denial because the people are pretending nothing is happening and hiding what is happening. Additionally, the victims are denying that any of this is happening so that they do not draw attention to themselves. This is shown in the film when a family is visiting their father who is at a detention center in China and the father attempts to cover up the camera to protect his family.

He was serving an 80 year sentence. China claims that he "died" but he could have been killed. We don't know what truly happened to him. But your thinking one death isn't a big deal. People die all the time. But we don't know how he died. If he was killed by the Chinese government, then one could turn into millions. Even if it is over a long period of time, people are still losing their lives and we need to do something.
