The Moon landing conspiracy theories are conspiracy theories which claim that some or all aspects of the Apollo Moon landings were staged by NASA. The most notable claim is that the six manned landings between 1969 to 1972 were faked and that the Apollo astronauts did not go to the Moon. Many have made claimed that NASA purposely misled everyone into believing the landings really occurred by tampering with or destroying evidence including photos, tapes, radio and TV transmissions, Moon rock samples, and even some key witnesses.

In the original broadcast of the moon landings, viewers can see an American flag in the background. The photos suggest that the flag is waving and fluttering, as if caught in a breeze. However, there is no air in the Moon’s atmosphere, so there wouldn't be any wind to blow the flag.

Two of the images of the landscape on the Moon appear to have the exact same background, even though NASA claims that the two were taken miles apart from each other. In one of the pictures, the lunar module is shown and in the other picture, it isn’t. It’s highly unlikely that there would be two exact same mountains that line up, and even if the two pictures were taken in the same place, you can’t explain how lunar module is there in one picture but absent in the other, you can’t just move it out of the way for another picture.

On another of the pictures taken on the Moon, there is a rock that looks like it has the letter “C” carved into it. The odds of that occurring naturally are very slim. NASA claims it is just a practical joke by an editor, however, there’s no proof of this.

On all of the original Apollo pictures, there are no stars seen in any of the pictures. There aren’t any clouds, so you would be able to see the stars constantly. NASA blames this on the low quality cameras of the 60s, but it seems unlikely still, as you can take a picture of the night sky on Earth and still see stars.

There is a subtle object in the corner of the astronauts mask reflection that can’t be explained. Most people say it looks like a hanging light that would be used to light a film stage. NASA never gave an explanation for this.

Stanley Kubrick Theory

Many believe that NASA sought out help from film director Stanley Kubrick to help stage the moon landings. His film, 2001: A Space Odyssey, was released one year before the landings and was praised for the realistic features of that time. In his other film, The Shining, there are also hints about the moon landings as well. For example, one character wears a sweater with the Apollo 11 depicted on it and the number that Kubrick uses for the haunted hotel room is 237 and the distance from the Moon and the Earth is about 237,000 miles.
