What sort of purchasing behavior do you, as a student, exhibit? Do you stop by a convenience store and buy a soda on the way to class? Use the shopping behaviors we learned from Chapter 3.1 and 3.2 in your answer. Don't forget to respond to a classmate! by Elaine Hill

I definitely exhibit complex buying behaviors as I am the type of person who researches the same product from different brands and stores to make sure I am getting the best deal and quality. Sometimes I will let the same product from different brands sit in my online shopping cart for a couple of weeks to see if either price will drop or go on sale. There will be times where I stop by a store or restaurant before going somewhere to get a little treat like some food or a drink but I try to limit my sporadic spending and make sure I am making healthy financial and diet choices!

When it comes to my purchasing, I practice a mixture of habitual buying behavior and variety-seeking behavior. I have routines, typically before work, I always go to the same coffee shop and get the same order without thinking about it. (Habitual). However, when it comes to shopping at a Walmart or even in a store around town, that's where I practice variety buying behavior. I often like to switch up hygiene brands, clothing styles, room decor, etc. I don't put a large amount of thought but I look for good deals and consider what I have and haven't tried.

As a student, I think my purchasing behavior is mostly habitual buying behavior. For example, I usually buy the same type of snacks or drinks in general just because it's part of my routine. I don't spend too much time comparing brands or prices when it comes to small purchases like that. However, when I'm shopping for bigger items, like clothes or electronics, I switch to complex buying behavior because I want to compare prices, read reviews, and make sure I'm getting something that will last. I notice my spending is a mix of convenience and careful planning, depending on what I'm buying.

When I buy stuff, I ALWAYS make sure im buying quality. I check reviews, prices, and anything else that could be helpful. I'm very cautious when buying stuff. But I have a hard time saving money. I have a savings account, and I'm fighting demons to keep it untouched.
