By allowing students to explore the medium without the pressure of a grade hovering over their heads, they are more likely to explore deeper than they would if they were concerned with the quality of their work. Also, play based learning provides students with the opportunity to use the medium in unorthodox ways, that I as a teacher may not have tried or seen before.
