Who am I ?

When I think about who I am, I realize I am a patchwork of characteristics, experiences, and dreams rather than a solitary, static person. Each piece of this mosaic tells a story, and together, they form the person I strive to be every day.

I would describe myself as independent, curious, and ambitious. I often isolate myself away from the world. I was born and raised by my parents to be independent, never relying on others to do the job. I view things from a different perspective. Therefore, the best taste of freedom is being by myself. Curiosity is another thing that keeps me sane. For example, I dive into books, documentaries, and articles to feed my hunger for knowledge. I am insanely fond of jigsaw puzzles, Rubik's Cube, or anything that requires strategic thinking and analysis. Being curious drives me to ask questions and never settle for shallow answers. Dali Salvator said, "Intelligence without ambition is like a bird without wings". My drive is what keeps me moving forward toward my goals and dreams—personal growth, academic success, or achieving things beyond our control.

So, who am I? I am a dreamer, a learner, a work in progress. Cooking up my ambitions on a kitchen stove. I enjoy every moment there is, every day I discover new aspects of life and I embrace the voyage of achieving the best version of me.

My Biggest Fear

What are the things that keep you awake at night. The feeling of having shivers down your spine. Franklin D. Roosevelt said " The only thing we have to fear is fear itself ". Fear shows up in different ways. Bringing terror of one's thoughts and scares you to the bones. It may be fear of heights, spiders and even worse things that the naked eye can't see.

My biggest fear is FAILURE. To not achieve my goals and dreams. To not meet up to people's expectation and let them down. It traces back when I was just a kid. I was raised to excel whether in academics, competitions, sports , day to day interactions. As a result I got good grades, consistent honor student until senior high. Hearing praises from friends, teachers and family was the fruit of it all. Overtime I see these things as a standard on my daily living, not giving any value in mistakes , failure and bad experiences. Stood on the principle of achievements equals validation. These things poisoned me, made my mind greedy and stupid. This mindset created an overwhelming pressure to succeed, no matter the cost.

Not until God gave me a big fat reality check. I was in the 3rd year of my college life, studying medical technology. I failed two major subjects which hindered me in going to internship. I cried the whole night asking to God, what did I do to deserve this downfall. That night I thought my life was over. Goals and dreams burned to the ground. I went home and decided to stop school for one sem. It hurts when reality gives you a slap of failure. The taste was indescribable and smells so foul. Colors of life faded , food were bland and depression started to kick in. Alcohol and tobacco was the only thing that kept me alive. Ironically the best coping mechanism you can ask for. Days turned weeks, weeks into months. I realized a lot of things , blamed myself for being too greedy. I flew too closely to the sun and ended up burning my wings. I have always imagined myself working in the medical field but things doesn't always go as planned. I prayed to God to give me signs of hope, I ended up receiving a lot more. Maybe it's his way of redirecting my life and purpose. Maybe it's not the finish line of my life.

Challenges and failures will always be there and that's what makes life beautiful. Accepting failure and making it as a learning process. People make mistakes and mine was rushing and forcing things the way I wanted it to be. I am beyond thankful for the hellhole I have experienced. You have made me strong and wise. The way I killed my fear is slowly taking one step at a time. I’ve started seeing mistakes as opportunities to learn rather than reasons to quit. Slowly, I have realized that failure doesn't define me; resilience and overcoming it does. Onto this day failure is still a part of me but it is no longer a puppeteer that controls me. Instead it is a gentle reminder of my humanity and importance of self acceptance. Lastly because of failure; life doesn't stop there, it goes on. I have realized that success is not running away from failure but it's about facing it head on.

What keeps me going ?

Life can be like a rollercoaster ride. Challenges , triumphs, and obstacles ; you name it. Amidst of all the uncertainty, I find strength in myself, family and my willingness to become the best version of me. Motivation beats mere talent. Through thick and thin I will always keep on moving forward.

My main motivation in life is myself. I know it may seem selfish but that's me. I will always put myself first before anything. I have been through a lot of things. Always remember that no one is going to help you but yourself. I have doubted and questioned if life is worth living, actually it is. To become the best you ? Is too put in the work and dedication within you. You fail, you learn. You win , celebrate.

I will always thank God for giving me a home and a supportive family. Their unwavering support reminds me that I am not alone, no matter what challenges come my way. Looking back when I was a kid, they took good care of me and helped me to become what I am today. A few years from now would surely give back to everything you did for me. Experiencing things first hand at home; to feel loved, to grow and to feel wanted. You will always be one of the main reasons that your boy is doing his best to be successful.

Achieving my goals and dreams will be the climax of my story. These are the things that I prioritize over anything else. No matter what happens I will keep on moving forward until I reach the finish line. Challenges, mistakes and failures will always catch up on you and that's life. In the end, what keeps me going is the belief that every challenge is an opportunity to grow, and every effort brings me closer to becoming the person I want to be. Life may not always be easy, but with my family’s support, my resilience, and my dreams, I am ready to face whatever lies ahead.
