Being an achiever, I like to get things done. I don't like to waste time but to continually be productive. I think this will help us move towards our goal in an adequate time frame. Belief will help keep us focused on accomplishing the goal in front of us - achieving safety for our patients by getting this bed on the hospital floors. It's important to make sure the team believes in that goal as well. That goes into making sure that each member of the team feels significant and feels their part of the team is important. There are no small roles and everyone should play their part to the best of their ability! Being a learner would help me take something from each team member. We never stop learning and we can always learn from those around us. In the team setting, everyone should feel valued and feel free to share their thoughts, opinions, and ideas. Lastly, bringing everyone together (connectedness) with the same ideas and goals in mind will form a cohesive team.

The Stryker ProCuity bed merges smart technology and high tech safety features for optimal patient security. The bed is wirelessly connected to the nurse call system and alerts the nurse when the patient's bed rails are moved, when the patient gets up or moves out of a safe position, in order to prevent or minimize falls. This technology remains even when the bed is moving through the hospital. In the fancier models, the technology allows for intuitive navigation to further enhance patient safety.

This bed has some incredible selling points - patient safety being the priority. Often times, there are not enough staff in the unit and the nurse ends up frantically monitoring the patient to prevent a fall. If they can't prevent it, they get written up or have trainings to do, along with extra charting on the incident. If this bed were in place on every unit, it would bring relief to the nurses who are constantly worried about a patient falling while still managing their regular patient load. Being able to monitor from the nurses station would allow flexibility for the nurse caring for a high fall risk patient. The best part would be preventing falls! Fall are deadly and have high mortality associated with them, so this would be excellent not only for nurses but for patients as well.

I believe this would be an awesome addition to any hospital unit because it would help keep patients and nurses safe. Patients would have a much lower risk of falls and all the complications that brings with it, while the nurses could breathe a sigh of relief and monitor their fall risk patient with ease.
